"There was some difficulty checking in as there was no regular staff on duty when we arrived. They had trouble locating my reservation information (that may have been communication problem between Hotels.com and the lodging). Both days there was dog poop on the roof over the dining area outside my second floor room window. Only one bedside table and reading light. Good bed and linens. Excellent breakfast. Quiet. Nice yard. "

"This review goes well beyond the 5 stars. While the Hotel was magnificent, the customer service shined even brighter. We arrived in town after a long 6 hour drive through some hard rain. The city had some streets blocked off due to a student parade and it was really difficult to locate the hotel with my GPS. When I called the front desk to get some assistance, they figured out where I was and ran out in the rain to help me finally find the hotel. Things like this is why I love Portugal so...

"We checked in and immediately was appalled at the smell our room had. A combination of BO and whatever chemical/cleaning solution they used to try to mask it. The AC was not working properly and opening windows did not help (street view room). By 8pm on the check-in day we asked the person at the front desk to check out and for a refund. They called the manager and agreed to it, however we were told to cancel through orbitz as we booked through the third party. When we created a ticket to ask...
