"Checked in mid evening and was cold outside. Was informed at check in that the team had been to my room and closed the curtains and put the heating on so it was not cold. Wow now that’s some check in service "

"Had stayed here a number of years ago before it closed. Was delighted to see that the main building which is full of character, had not been remodelled or modernised and all the great features retained. Especially the Grandfather clock. Great to have a pet friendly place to eat and stay. Friendly helpful staff. Will stay again."

"Room was very clean and comfortable, staff were super friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I was able to charge my car overnight with a full charge for £15.00. There was an initial issue finding our booking so we had to wait a little while to check in. There is custom firmware on the TV so if you want to stream from any apps bring a fire stick or something similar. Really rate this hotel will definitely stay here again."

"Lovely attentive staff, bar and restaurant busy but atmospheric which was lovely, food good. Hotel room ok, so hot couldn't sleep had to turn Radiators down and open the window, but then we heard the noise of the traffic unfortunately both my husband and I hardly slept! 6 am someone was emptying bottles into the recycling bins which woke us up yet again, never managed to get off again."
