"Lovely hotel. Close to harrogate centre. Lovely bar area, recently refurbished . The new Amber restaurant was amazing. Rooms a bit dated and tatty. Have not been decorated in years ( I stayed here in 2018 and still the same decor. Bed comfy and big rooms. "

"We were attracted to this place because it is so historic, built in 1680. We knew it was a conference center and likely to be less plush than many hotels. The room was tiny and not that easy to reach because I have trouble walking and used a cane. However, we still really enjoyed staying there and felt it was exactly the unique experience we were seeking "

"Stayed for one night. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Around half hour by car from York City Centre. Hotel room was a little tired but was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was worth the money, plenty of variety and a full cooked breakfast if required. Unlimited drinks both hot and cold. Staff friendly. Would recommend."

"Cheap and cheerful, the bed was ridiculously soft and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work. Room was initially set up for 1 person (1 towel, glass, milk etc) and reception staff wouldn’t accept this to begin with, however we returned from a night out to find a mountain of towels and a dairy farm’s worth of milk. Good breakfast and cheerful staff. Would stay again. "
