4 Star Hotels in Fordstown, County Meath

"Start to finish a truly wonderful experience for my wife's 70th.birthday, unfortunately the breakfast was a bit of a let down ie. My wife's French toast was cold and my fried egg was frazzled, definitely the worst fried egg in Ireland. The egg makes the fry. Booked a table for 7pm Saturday evening. Arrived at 6.50 and we were told to wait outside in a side room until 7 even though the restaurant was empty at the time. Not even an offer to provide us with a drink while we waited. Hence we went down to the bar and had our meal, with no complaints and the staff were fantastic as they were on the Friday night, especially catriona,unfortunately the staff in the restaurant are not on the same planet and definitely don't have the same customer friendly approach. Such a shame that this should happen on my wife's 70th.birthday. "

"Really lovely large buildings with nice grounds. Very well priced a d lovely spa facilities included. Only downside was lack of places near by to go out and eat without having to drive, other than that, fantastic and the beds are great, really big!"

"This place was excellent on all fronts. I have just returned from a wedding there. The hotel was absolutely immaculate and the staff were superb. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys. The wedding staff were truely amazing in ensuring the day flowed into the early hours. 10/10 to the wedding manager and his staff. I must also give a special thank you to all of the hotel waitresses, who really went out of their way to look after us, especially the wonderful Jer. Thank you Moyvalley and will hopefully return one day. "

"We had booked two nights at Trim Castle Hotel. There was an incident on the first evening which was very upsetting. We met with the manager Lucas the following morning who was extremely concerned and apologetic. In a matter of minutes he made us feel comfortable and handled the situation well. Andrew, Heather and Eve took care of us wonderfully in the restaurant. The staff serving in the breakfast room were also great. The view of the castle from the hotel in the evening with the lights is spectacular. Thank you Lucas! "

"The hotel was very warm throughout it was hard to sleep. The bed was done and the mattress leaned to one side. The food was really bad, we had to send it back. Ordered veg curry and they brought chicken, they changed it and all I got was a watery curry sauce full of onions and the rice was clumped together. The restaurant manager Shona was very attentive though I have to say. The pool and gym were nice and the cocktail bar was very good and the two Greek bar staff were super. The bar was quite dirty and dusty everywhere. "
