"Just across the street from the Apex bird sanctuary. Apart from Kakadu, this is the most birdlife I have experienced in Oz. Last time I was in Gattan (6 years ago), the lake was dry. The best truckie memorial in the nation, is nearby in the park. Check out Picnic Point, Toowoomba next stop!"

"Room was clean, beds were clean and comfortable. Overall property bit dated but has huge potential. Gardens bit neglected. Room had microwave but no cutlery and crockery, so whatever you were going to cook or heat you couldn’t eat as no cutlery. No toaster. Advertised pool, but it was not useable. Advertised restaurant/bar but that was permanently closed. So, for just a room, I found it to be a bit on the expensive side."

"Beware, this property has sold and is not currently trading as a B&B, despite last minute indicating the booking was confirmed. We arrived on the booked date for check in only to discover the owner had sold & was packing up the house to relocate. Thankfully the host, who was extremely apologetic, provided us with a recommendation to the ‘Bunyip’ close by, which was an amazing stay & is highly recommended!! The weekend was salvaged & thoroughly enjoyed! 😄"
