"The hotel is a traditional beautiful stately home with a lovely spa. The meal in the Brasserie was the best I have had in a long time and the service was great at the restaurant bar and throughout the hotel. Some parts of the hotel have been renovated and others have not leaving it looking a little tired. Our beautiful room had a leak in the ceiling and we had to move on day two as a result. We were left to do this by ourselves and didn't like the new room quite so much. Perhaps if we had been...

"This is a really beautiful place to stay, the room was lovely and very comfy. It was nice to stay somewhere a bit different and felt very special. On the way to our room the corridor/stair well did have a few cobwebs with dead flies in, but I did laugh as it was in theme with it being an old quirky place! It didn’t put me off staying, and the room and bathroom were both very clean. The breakfast was amazing, though the staff do clear up quick, and take your cutlery! Therefore if you want seconds...

"I didn’t sleep well. The Bed was too hard for me & the pillows were flat & hard too. The Breakfast waitress was not very friendly. First thing she did before seating us was to check her watch. It was just 0910 but we felt uncomfortable & rushed. The minute we had served ourselves hot food it was taken away, so no chance of seconds had we wanted it. "
