"Our stay at this hotel was lovely. There were a few issues with our bath and window but the staff arranged for an alternative room to be made available for us. Both rooms were very well appointed. The weather outside was poor but the reception rooms in the hotel were decorated beautifully and kept warm with lively open fires and we enjoyed refreshing drinks and tasty snacks. "Everything we hoped it would be and more. Friendly, very helpful staff and fantastic food and service which started before we arrived. The views across the Exe are stunning and the extensive grounds beautifully kept. We plan to come back next summer so we can use the beautiful pool and croquet lawn. "Fabulous house bang in the middle of Axminster. Lived in Axminster for 6 years and knew where this was but not realised the size of the house. "Recommend parking in Magdalen Street car park (by the Mecure Hotel) free parking from 6 pm to 8 am (alternative parking in St Mary Arches was expensive). I was surprised at the large number of apparent homeless people gathering in Cathedral Yard right outside of the apartment, quite loud and drinking from first thing in the morning until very late at night and begging for money as you enter end leave the apartment.
