"The hotel is in a great, convenient location. It's very central, easy walk to the train station, old town, and elsewhere. The hotel does offer a lot of up-sells, eg, higher-floors, balcony rooms, etc. If they offered an upsell for sunlight, I'd go for it. Definitely ask for a room facing the front or a very high floor, otherwise its a dungeon. The lighting is very "artsy" in the bedroom and the hallways. It's a dark hotel. Being in the room, we could barely tell if it was day time or not. This...

" Hotel Diplomat is a wonderful hotel. Our room was amazing. Very comfortable with two comfortable sitting chairs for having coffee etc. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is definitely one of old school charm I believe built in the 19th century. It has one of the old time elevators inside a cage which was charming but on more than one occasion someone on one floor would forget to close the outer door which would render the elevator useless. "Great long weekend stay in a central location with great restaurants and bars in a stunning city. Definitely recommend a visit and stay at Villa Dagmar. Will definitely be back. Garden Terrace is lovely and does have music on until late so may disturb those early to bed but great atmosphere and buzz for most, and was a great spot to relax and have a drink or dinner. "
