Abita Historic House

Our newly-renovated cottage is just 43 miles from downtown New Orleans. So you can Big Easy by day. Sleep Easy at night. Abita Springs/Mandeville has been rated as the safest town in the state. OR enjoy a relaxing city escape within walking distance of the nationally-known St. Tammany Trace hiking and bicycle trail. Abita Cafe and Abita Brew Pub are just steps away. All nestled in the majestic pines of the North Shore. As one guest told us “it’s like a Hallmark movie here.”

Eclectic Charm
It’s evident that there was ALOT of work done to restore this darling shotgun home. The hosts Melanie and Cecil were there to greet me and were lovely to meet. They have created a little oasis of peacefulness in the heart of Abita Springs. Modern kitchen with coffee available. Many spices available for to use if you cooked in. A gift card to a local Restaurant that had an amazing Brunch. Washer Dryer new and functional. Bathroom was adequate with everything you’d need. It was decorated with plants galore in the kitchen. Antique rice and iron beds, armoires for clothing and other antique side tables. I loved the front door keyless entry. Perfect. Family was just a couple of miles in distance so this was perfect for our needs. Very relaxing stay. Already booked again for my next stay !

Very quaint house. I especially liked the comfortable mattress and bedding! I also liked the fact that we were in the middle of town and could walk to the grocery store and bakery!

Abita Springs Getaway
Our visit to lovely Abita Springs was great. Melanie and Cecil’s historic shotgun house was adorable and suited us perfectly. I had a few questions during our stay and Melanie and Cecil responded quickly and were very helpful. I would definitely return to their listing and recommend it highly.
