If you are looking for a unique stay you cant go past this one-of-a-kind old schoolhouse built in 1858. Your own church like self-contained sandstone schoolhouse wing with a fireplace and double glazed gothic windows awaits. With one bedroom, one bathroom with a claw foot bath to keep you in your own cocoon.
There's just too much to do in this part if the world, so when you do decide to get out there is so much to explore -many wineries close by (with a drop off pick up service on offer by negotiation), cafes, pubs , gin & whisky distilleries all less than 5 minute walk away or more less than 5 minute drive away, Amy Gillet bike track and many historic towns to explore close by such as Hahndorf (4.5kms) and Uraidla (10kms).
Guests are welcomed to the old schoolhouse by the owners/residents of the home who live in separate (thick stone walls throughout!) but attached old schoolmaster's wing. Guests enter through the verandah and front door and open the schoolhouse wing through a locked door on the right. The door on the left leads to the schoolmaster's residence. The home is on a large block - just under an acre, and guests have use of the barbeque area by prior agreement. The owners access the property by the rear doors, ensuring guests privacy.
Please note there is NO TV at the schoolhouse! Its such a beautiful space we think a TV would ruin the romantic feel of the space.
Please read the property rules.
