"Amazing hotel. Lives up to the reviews we researched before our stay. The staff are very helpful and the food is very tasty if you choose to eat at the hotel in the evening. A few things to be aware of: 1) it’s not close to lots of other bars and restaurants so expect to drive or take taxis to get about to the main towns 2) the two restaurants near the hotel were both enjoyable food but I would be careful of the bill - we were overcharged both times. 3) make sure you ask the cost of the taxi...

"Check in was a nightmare. Family was supposed to meet host at airport with a cot - but he was no where to be found. Directions to villa were very scattered but finally arrived met by housekeeper and shown around the villa. It was old and in need of some updating but very comfortable for our party of 10. Beds and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Pool was lovely although it was still warm enough to swim in the sea. All in all a wonderful holiday."

"Beyond expectations, location, location, location of course with that front row seat view of Etna across the bay but the property itself was much larger than expected from the photos. "Giovanni was a wonderful host! The home was very spacious and filled with fascinating antiques. It is about a 20 minute walk to the historic center and about 10 minutes from the bus station. We chose the bus, but walking to the apartment was a bit challenging so when we left, we chose a taxi to the train station. This neighborhood in Cantania is very safe, but undergoing a lot of renovation. This includes the building of this apartment too. There are 4 flights of steps to climb when entering...
