I had a really good stay in Akita castle hotel, the staffs are super friendly and helpful during check-in and check-out. Overall a very good experience.
Hotel location is a few minutes walk from Akita station. It is well maintained. Its clean, and staff is friendly and helpful. Would stay again when im back in Akita.
I like the hotel. Very clean and cosy. Their workers were all friendly, polite and nice. Very satisfied. Only thing I would ask for would be the lotion. I wish they had little lotion packs included in their aminity. Weather is dry now, so I went out to get mine, but if they had in the bathroom, that would have been nice. 😊
My husband and I & our 2 friends stayed at the Akita Castle Hotel in April 2025 as part of our 9 day trip to Japan. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Akita , across the street from the Akita Kubota Castle /Senshu Park. It is walkable to shops and restaurants and to the Castle. The restaurant on the top floor near the bar had fantastic food. The Tepanyaki hot pot dish was extraordinary. The restaurant has views of the castle and park. The hotel rooms had twin beds that were fairly hard and took some getting use to. The room and bathroom need brighter lights. The bed linens were comfortable. The restaurant downstairs serves a full buffet breakfast. More food choices including omelettes and eggs prepared any way would have been appreciated. Although coffee is included in the breakfast, Cappucino's are available for an additional price. Other hotels include the Cappucino's in the price of the breakfast buffet. Staff was gracious and helpful. Would definitely stay again on our next visit to Japan.
This was an emergency stay when the train lines shut down because of heavy rains.
This property was across the beautiful lily fields in bloom at the time. One interesting thing about the Akita Castle Hotel is that it is a repository for famous artists and artworks. It has an original Picasso!
Access to the airport is easy as there is a local bus which stops at the hotel.
Great hotel is all I can say. It was a wonderful base for my parents and I to explore the city and the surrounding countryside. We loved the elegant Lotus bar.
The hotel location is a nice little stroll from the train station, but not too far from other city attractions The room was very spacious and clean. The front desk was very friendly and check-in/check out was an easy process
It was a very nice stay. The staff were friendly and everything went well. They provided us quickly with a local wifi unit because there was trouble with the overall system. A problem solved quickly. Thank you
Restaurants close early and some require reservations. I arrived late the first night and didn’t know that the restaurant was not open to public or guest the second night so I had to eat at 7-Eleven each night. 7-Eleven is on property was a lifesaver.. not many restaurants in the area but hotel was fantastic

Sad experience
Staff did not know English. I had had difficulties in communicating with them at Reception. I was charged 50 per cent extra for 3 hours early chech in. I felt it was unjust enrichment considering that 11 am was check out and 3 pm was check in. I myself checked out at 7 am.
