"Hotel is in desperate need of a FULL renovation, rooms are small and almost none amenities, breakfast was poor and served in a box. We stayed at room 305, the door dint close completely and we can see the light from the hallway it was disturbing to sleep. If you want to charge your mobile devices there was only one electric plug. No AC and during a hot summer night it was hard to sleep. Basically the only good thing is the location."

"Lovely 2 night break. Reception staff were always very pleasant and helpful. Lobby smelt lovely. Room was compact but expected for a city centre hotel, cute balcony facing the street. Breakfast was very good, cold and hot options. staff very welcoming. Good location near the Clerigos Church. All in all a perfect hotel for our needs."

"This hotel is almost like staying in a museum with great memorabilia on display everywhere. The room was a little outdated but very comfortable with good AC. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was reasonably priced and very good. It was a bit of a walk to the river area but we didn’t mind. We enjoyed our stay"

"Lovely hotel! Large, spacious, beautiful rooms. Our balcony was right on the open square. It was amazing! The bar was awesome and the American bar tender was very nice and helpful. All the staff were wonderful! The very central location was awesome and made the days easy. Such a short walk to the river, churches, the market, everything! Great hotel!"

"This guest house is very simple. It has a beautiful stair case and no elevator. It's central location in the city is excellent, but obviously there can be noisy people in the streets and city noise. There are several coffee and breakfast places within a 5 minute walk. The beds were more comfortable than usual. The shower had hot water. For the price I paid, I was satisfied."

"Excellent location, room was big, modern with a big shower room and a balcony. The night porter was particularly friendly and very helpful. No coffee or milk in the room (tea and sugar though). The breakfast was a let down with stale pastries and underwhelming choices. Some areas (landings) look tired but overall, I would go back and recommend this hotel."

"Great location near Sao Bento train station and other nearby attractions within walking distance. Note that there's about 27 steps up to check-in with a lift for handicap only and then a regular lift, albeit small, for floors above that. Porto is built on steep hills, so it requires some energy, with funiculars, etc. to make it easier in some places. Nevertheless, it's definitely a more than worthwhile place to visit for a few days, with side day trips to Guiermaes and/or Braga also...
