Bottom line: this is a good hotel in a great location. Perfect distance between the train station and downtown. Easy 10-minute walk from station. Friendly staff. Building has interesting architecture and history. Breakfast was excellent. Very responsive to our questions via email. Room was spacious. A few small things: elevator is out, which is not great with heavy luggage, no fan in bathroom, and we were told they could coordinate off-site laundry, which really meant directing us to a service across town I could have looked up on my own.

Great choice!

We had a very nice stay here. Ezra in the evenings and the young lady (sorry we didn’t get her name) in the mornings were very friendly and accommodating. The elevator’s operation was questionable so we had to carry the stroller up the stairs each time but these little inconveniences are always insignificant when you receive great service. The location was great and the free breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. Loved that there was a supermarket very close by.

Bed too soft

This was good, but sleeping was not easy. The bed is too soft. This is an old building totally fresh inside the room and modern, but still there are windows with a single glass. So in winter it's better to keep the warm airco, which is also a little bit noisy if you do like to sleep in silence.

It’s a cold, drafty building with some strange electrical setups: in order to keep the heat on the bathroom light had to be on all night. It’s a little hard to walk around the hotel because of the layout.

The room is terrible! No AC at a 34 degrees day, only small fan. The bed and pillows are so old and uncomfortable. The entire place is barely a hostel, don’t know how they call it a hotel…and in such a high price. Stay away

Beware - We have been told guests got stuck in the elevator so we better not use it, so we didn’t took the chance and used the stairs. The beds were uncomfortable and probably the worst I have ever had. We arrived in August which is mostly hot (not talking about heat wave) and there is NO AC. The door of the room was open and two small fans were working to somehow reduce the heat of the room, without any success. Breakfast is limited to specific time slots as the room Is too small to contain more than ~25 people and there was only one small fan to help the heat, again without any success. You pay for a hotel but eventually you sleep in a cheap guesthouse. Not worth the money and definitely not recommended!

Fijn hotel op perfecte locatie: rand centrum Alkmaar en parkeren voor de deur. Goede ruime kamers en een lekker bed. Kamers zijn sober ingericht, dus iets meer sfeer zou wat mij betreft wel kunnen :). Al met al een heerlijk verblijf en prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Godt hotel men lidt upersonligt.

Det er absolut en god ide at en tidligere skole bliver brugt som hotel. Beliggenheden var fin med gåafstand til centrum. Men stedet og værelset fremstår upersonligt og uden hygge. Vores værelset var stort med et stort skråvinduer hvor det var svært at rulle garnet ned og op. Der manglede pærer/lys ved spejlet på badeværelset. Håndklædeholderen var i stykker. Personalet var venlige og hjælpsomme. Og morgenmaden var god. Og positivt med mulighed for parkering.

Preis Leistung Top und in bester Lage

Wasserdruck in der Dusche echt dürftig. Zimmer sehr groß. Heizung überfordert, zwei zusätzliche Radiatoren standen aber bereit. Frühstück sehr gut, aber man muss vorher Zeit wählen.
