Find your private oasis in this woodsy A-frame in the greenery and trees of Camp Connell! Though this home looks like a traditional cabin from the exterior, guests will fall in love with the unique layout of the interior. Complete with a well-equipped kitchen, an open-concept living and dining area, and a spacious loft; the whole family can spread out and make themselves right at home. Whether you want to cozy up with a warm drink as the snow falls outside, chill out in a hammock among the trees, or have a cookout on the detached deck in the summer breeze, this will be just the place for you. When days come to a close, stargaze in the summer and enjoy movie nights in winter with a big bowl of popcorn for all to enjoy!

With everything you need at your fingertips, it will be hard to convince anyone to take some time to explore the surrounding area, yet heading out for the day will be well worth the trip. For some hiking, skiing, or snowmobiling, head 18 miles north to Bear Valley! For a bit of fun closer to home, there are local trailheads, and the town of Arnold is just seven miles south, offering shops and dining galore.

Frustration Under the Trees
Upon arrival I was flabbergasted by the difference of seeing the rental in person compared to online....and not in a good way. Listing on here nade it seem whimsical, in person it was anything but. Pictures seemed to be older, but better.

Just what we needed
This was a cozy, clean, well-stocked facility. The kitchen was really user friendly. I didn't see wood for the fireplace, but we didn't use it. I read a few reviews that said the hot tub didn't work (it did for us), or that it wasn't clean (it was for us.) The parking looks like it would be a challenge in the snow, but it just took a little time to make the hard turn onto the property. There was plenty of room. (One note -- my car had sap dripped on it in the morning. It came off easily with a car wash, but just be aware.)

Unfortunately disappointed
We chose this rental because of the hot tub. The hot tub did not work and when we finally figured out the way to heat it up, it didn’t get above 80 until the last day of our vacation. So we never got to use it. The TV system did not work, and the upstairs where you sleep was freezing. We had to search for blankets and space heaters. The parking permit that was supposed to be on the fridge was not there. We made the best of it cuz we were on vacation but considering the price we paid to have the hot tub i was bummed. It’sa cute house but we were bummed to have spent the amount we did and not get the things we were looking forward to.

Cute, private cabin
Cute, private cabin. Met most of our needs. There is plenty to do in the area and even if you stay there. Positives: gas fire pit was awesome to sit around at night, fire wood was provided still. Great, relaxing living room. Kitchen does the job. Negatives: there was no coffee pot, just espresso machine and French press. It did the job, just took awhile. Also, there were outlets that did not work in the bedrooms and we could not find the guest binder. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend there.

Could have been perfect if bot for issues
Ok so this property was listed as having a hot tub, a wood fired stove, a BBQ, and an outdoor propane fire-pit. These are the reasons we booked it. However, none of these things worked properly. - the hot tub needs maintenance. It will not maintain an appropriate temperature. Though it does get hot when the lid is on it, it rapidly loses heat after getting in. The heater is in need of repair - The BBQ would not get hot enough to cook a steak at all (no sear, nothing). This is even after I switched out the propane tank with a full one that was nearby. This grill looks pretty neglected and gross, it might be time to buy a new one. - The small propane fire pit needs maintenance and would not stay lit. - the wood stove in the living room has some kind of ventilation issue. When I started a fire *none* of the smoke went up the chimney and it poured out from cracks between the stove doors. I had to put the fire out and open all the windows. I would like to note that I grew up with a wood stove, and have a propane grill, these issues are not because I don’t know how to use these appliances. This list of issues were sent to the property manager when I was there but no action was taken
