"We stayed here because of the 4/ 5 star rating reviews , for us it did not stand up to portrayed as that. The veranda is very nice , but the bedrooms and bathroom has no natural light. Sophie and Denis are very nice hosts , and will help you in any way they can . The village of ASCAIN is very good for numerous walks , and you have a good choice of bars and restaurants , which is 5mins by car , and the coast is not too far away. "Good basic Appart’hotel. Rooms were spacious enough and the outdoor pool was nice for a dip. The indoor pool with sauna etc definitely gave the standard of the hotel a boost. Nice 1 mile walk along the coastline into the city centre, or the bus stop is close to the hotel. Areas for improvement/watch-outs….. our room was not cleaned once in 4 days. "For the price and convenience of location this is a brilliant stay in Biarritz. We travelled as a family of four for surfing. Cote des basque main surf beach is across the road and down the promenade, 5 minutes in the opposite direction you are in the town centre with supermarket, bakery, market, restaurants and shops. "Really enjoyed my time at this hotel. Very friendly staff and a good size room great views across the city and comfortable bedding. Whilst we really enjoyed in-house breakfast, our only criticism was the room service menu. Quality of the food was disappointing considering how great the food of San Sebastián is. In particular the pasta was very bland and overcooked. Strongly advise going out for food at night. It wasn’t a big deal to us we just went out and chose something else - we tried in house menu twice but the pizza was also disappointing. This is the only thing I felt needed improvement. "Our stay in Axel Hotel San Sebastián was great! The hotel is located in a quiet area closeby to many cafes and shops and at short walking distance to the beach. The hotel's premises were clean and modern, and we had a spacious and comfortable room. We loved the spa access included during our stay, which was an amazing added value to our holidays.
