The Dell is a 468 sq ft cabin with 1 bedroom, 1 bath and a fully equipped kitchen, with a brand new deck on the front. We called this cabin home for 12 years and now, after upgrading the kitchen and bath, our guests have been enjoying its charms, too.
We are located at 11612 East Fork Road, Brevard, NC, 28712, on a 19-acre peninsula of land between the East Fork and the French Broad Rivers. Their confluence is Mile Marker Zero for the French Broad, said to be the third oldest river in the world....not surprising since The Appalachians are the oldest mountains in the world! Both rivers offer excellent trout fishing and the French Broad Invites canoers, kayakers and tubers.
Transylvania County, NC, is known as The Land of Waterfalls with over 200 named falls, dozens of which are relatively easy to hike to. Pisgah National Forest features the Ranger and Visitor's Center, the Trout Hatchery, Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock and The Cradle of Forestry. All this is on the road that leads up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of its amazing views and attractions like the Devil's Courthouse, the Pisgah Inn Restaurant and Graveyard Fields. Nearby Dupont State Forest is headlined by Triple Falls and nearby Hooker Falls.
Brevard is a delightful mountain town that boasts lots of art galleries, good restaurants and a world class toy store, O.P. Taylor's. The music scene in Brevard is amazing. The Brevard Music Center hosts both their summer music camp and Mountain Song Festival, drawing students, talent and fans from all over the world. Lots of local breweries!
Asheville is home to America's castle, Biltmore House with its marvelous gardens, winery and history. Nearby Hendersonville has a nice downtown, an amazing antiques mall named Needful Things and NC's #1 rated Elijah Mountain Gem Mine.
Transylvania County is full of fun things to do, but we find that many of our guests spend most of their time enjoying the magic and peace we have right here. Come visit and find your happy place!
