Nice Cottage; Location Not So Much
The cottage itself was gorgeous but we were disappointed in the location. It sits at the end of a dead-end road with a view of railroad tracks, another road and storage buildings. The trains run both in the early morning and late at night. The televisions in the cottage have no access to network TV. Your only choice is Netflix and that proved to be a challenge. It would take five or six attempts each time we turned on the TV before Netflix would engage. We had to go into town to watch an NFL game. Also, there are some nice amenities, namely, electric fireplace, sauna and Jacuzzi but there is no information on how to operate these items. Not a really big deal (no pun intended) but we had to battle ants in the kitchen sink while we were there. Taking everything into account, it was a nice property but the location was quite disappointing.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Hidden fees and owner parks car there so no access to carport
We were charged an owner Fee which equaled another nights stay??? Also, cleaning fee for us to strip the bed, take out the trash, and start dishwasher. I am okay with starting the dishwasher. But there better be no cobwebs or layers of debris on surfaces. Just saying. So I am not sure we’re the disconnect is, but you are directed to a different site that is called Evolve. So most likely I will not use VRBO ever again. This equates to an additional nights stay. Absolutely ridiculous. House needs a deep cleaning!!!!!! Bed is uncomfortable and linens do not smell fresh. Yes the house is updated, tastefully decorated, and nice. The pictures show no vehicle in the driveway, but when you arrive there is one. So you are under the impression there is someone there. I called the manager and he stated this was listed in the description and does cause a problem. I have reviewed the description and do not see this anywhere. Also stated they are working on it. This means do not worry about it, because it will not be moved. So basically I had to load our car to leave in a down pour. One of the reasons I chose this place was the covered parking, because of the unpredictable weather in the area. Really did not use the outdoors area due the weather being unpredictable and the trailer park / meth lab next door to the house.

All the amenities
Very lovely home. Well stocked with everything one might need. Nice setting. Only negatives would be road noise from nearby freeway and the occasional train horns.

Liked: Location
Nicely Remodeled Property
While the property was recently and nicely remodeled the location left a little to be desired. It was hard to enjoy the outdoor space due to proximity to the Interstate and while a bit comical the crowing rooster did become annoying as well.

Very nice place. They have spent some money to remodel. The traffic and train were a little bit distracting, but the overall stay was great.

Location Location Location
We rent homes in the AVL area pretty often. We absolutely love it there! This home looks like the pictures. It is really nicely done, very fresh and HGTV-like. We didn't get to experience the backyard or sauna due to inclement weather, but inside was very nice. The property is clean and you are only ~10 mins from downtown AVL. The management company was also super helpful. We had read the reviews about the trains in the night ... and they’re all true. It will wake you out of a good sleep, but they also don’t run too often (3am though!?). What we didn’t see in other reviews: - you are not far from the highway, so you get some of that noise too. - the view from the front porch is nice, other than all the orange doors you see on the storage units in your line of sight. - the owners’ car was left in the driveway. While a nice car, it means you don't get the benefit of the carport when it rains (which it did for us on both days). - Finally, your neighbors to the left are several mobile homes (and one right up close to the fence). We have absolutely nothing against mobile homes, but we thought this little gem of a home was tucked away in the landscape, but in fairness you drive down a small road with a church, some commercial buildings, and these few mobile homes. When you’re inside enjoying a nice meal or the nicely appointed features, you don’t notice any of this at all. As we had not seen these few things really mentioned in other reviews, we wanted to share them with you here.

Sweet & Sour.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The Good: The house refurbished is great! The profile pics are accurgate as the owners spent a ton of $ and craftsmanship to make a beautiful home. Very well done! Highly recommend the BBQ at Okay Dokey smokehouse just 2 miles up the road. Also suggest a visit to the Tupelo Honey downtown. The Bad: We must have been the first house guests this spring. Spent the first 15 minutes sweeping dead bugs and cobwebs from the bathrooms and bedroom. Found bugs in the couch blanket as well...so skipped the living room all weekend. None of the outdoor furniture had been cleaned...dirt,dust,pollen covered the chairs & tables. What a bummer. The Ugly: Listing failed to note 1) Mobile home trailer park next door, 2) I-40 runs behind the property, 3) 100 yards from the front door is a working train line....you'll certainly notice this throughout the night..

Amazing Getaway from Reality
This property is everything my husband and I thought it would be, looks exactly like the pictures posted online which is definitely a plus. Home was clean and very welcoming, the interior design is absolutely gorgeous! Do not let the train tracks in front stop you from staying at this home you will definitely regret it. Property owner was very friendly as well and answered any questions we had right on the spot. We will definitely back to visit this beautiful home very soon.

Loved it!
The house was very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our weekend stay. I loved the remodeled bathroom and the shower was amazing. I wish the weather had been more cooperative as the rain kept us from enjoying the backyard as much as we would have liked. My husbands only complaint was the trains woke him up; I wasn't bothered by them at all. I would definitely stay here again.

Couples Getaway!
This house was perfect for a much needed getaway for me and my husband! We stayed in most of the weekend cooking our favorites and just enjoying a quiet, cozy space. It was also super convenient to grab an Uber or just drive ourselves into downtown Asheville. The sauna and jacuzzi tub were great additions to allow for a little extra pampering while we were there. Highly recommend this for any couple looking for a nice weekend retreat! We plan to use it again and recommend it to any of our friends headed this way.

Nice little cottage for two.
We were very pleased with this property and the location. We found the train charming and had easy access to all the sights we came to see. The property is clean, well maintained and very well represented by the photos. The only snag we had was that the sauna had a lock and the key had been misplaced. I e-mailed the managing company's contact and received a quick response. Since the key had been misplaced I didn't push the issue and I think the management company would have provided one had I not told them it was no big deal. Now had they brought one anyway, I would have thought that was exceptional and would have rated this as five star service as I consider this rating reserved for a superior experience above and beyond what is expected. This did not ruin anything and I would still recommend this property but wanted to mention it for other guests to be aware of issues that you can find using Homeaway. Overall a very good vacation.

Quaint, high-end, beautiful finishes throughout!
A perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic getaway. Just a short drive to downtown Asheville. Impeccably decorated. There was the lull of a train whistle from time to time, and beautiful landscape abounds in the backyard. The only thing missing was a blender.

Beautiful, cozy cottage!
It was perfect for the two of us. Had everything we needed and was close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore (15 minutes). The train comes through in the middle of the night and blows it's horn loudly! Other than that, everything was great!

Prefect Getaway
This home is everything you can expect and more! The cottage has been tastefully remodeled and decorated. The reclining sofa was a wonderful place to take a nap. The master bathroom shower and tub were luxurious. My husband loved cooking breakfast in the gourmet kitchen. (with 3 different types of coffee makers) Unfortunately, due to the rain that hurricane Florence brought during our stay we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful yard. We plan to return in the near future.

Nice place
The place was nice on the inside and outside. There was the train that woke us up every morning but they did mention the noise on the listing. So not a big deal. It was expensive after all the fees that were charged. For the same amount, we could’ve stayed at the biltmore.
