Located 300 meters walk from the beach, fully restored character house. 135 m2 in a reassuring and relaxing setting. Upstairs 3 large bedrooms, 1 bathroom with WC, On the ground floor, a large space in a decor mixing a current atmosphere and Caen stone, fully equipped kitchen "dishwasher, oven, microwave, large fridge with freezer space ”, a separate toilet Large relaxation room with sofa, television, game console in a cocooning atmosphere. Nursery kit (cot, baby chair) Outside, 300 m2 of land not overlooked, terrace with outdoor table and chairs, weber barbecue. Ideally located 400m from the landing beaches with the pontoons of the artificial port. 2.5 km on foot from Arromanches, 15 km from Bayeux known for being the 1st liberated city in France and the speech of General de Gaulle but also his Bayeux tapestry "registered in the UNESCO world memory register", at 25 km from the Caen World War II memorial. Asnelles sur mer small seaside resort of 600 inhabitants with these typical middle-class houses of the end of the XIX th centuries which line the large sandy beach. Known also for its famous shortbread biscuits, made by craftsmen. A bakery, a butcher and a supermarket are 300 m walk in the small town of Asnelles. This a very clean accommodating property for larger groups. All new updates and amenities. Matthew is very helpful and was waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this property to enjoy a vacation at the central area of the DDay Beaches

Great stay!
Large, spacious and comfy house with a lovely garden in a peaceful location. A short walk from the beach and super base for exploring the area. The house is very well equipped - one of the nicest places we have stayed in in France. Would thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic cool house near the beach
We had a warm welcome and helpful tour from the owner on arrival. The house is a beautifully renovated and extended fisherman's cottage and combines character with style. Everything in the house was clean and well thought out. The kitchen was well equipped and all the appliances were of a good standard with great garden furniture and games. Our teenagers became obsessed with the table football! The house is in a quiet road and has a pretty and secluded garden. Its in a lovely village a few minutes walk from the beach. We loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

Great place to stay
We stayed here as a base for a relaxing holiday & to see the WWII sights. It is modern, clean and well appointed. I would thoroughly recommend it. Communication was good and we received a timely visit when we couldn’t work the TV. The ‘welcome’ was lovely. I left a pair of glasses and they are being posted to me by our hosts. For UK visitors bringing your own bed linen - the pillows are square! Would recommend!

Brilliant stay, excellent host
Perfect holiday stay within a lovely village. Really short walk to the beach (my 4 year old managed it fine) which was beautiful. Ideally located to explore all the D-Day beaches but also Bayeux. Host was super helpful and had everything there ready. We loved our stay.

A lovely stay in Asnelles. Near to the landing beaches and other historic sites. Nicely converted Gite ideal for families. Just remember that payment for linen and towels is separate so not included in initial price.

Great house , close to the Normandy beaches.
The house is great and very close to the Juno Beach centre. We used it as a home base and had day trips to Bayeaux, Caen, Honfleur and Etretat. The house was clean, kitchen had plenty of dishes. They have a great fireplace which we used on colder evenings. My only complaint is they charge for bedding/linens which I have never experienced before. There was also only 1 dishwasher tab. They have a washing machine, but no detergent. Regardless, overall we were happy with the experience and would stay again.

Good for more than one night
We only stayed one night but this property would be good for multiple nights. Kind of hidden but well maintained as advertised. New inside. A quick 5 minute walk to the local restaurants and bakery and convenient location to many of the D-Day sights. Only critique is that I didn't like that we had to pay extra (€32) to "rent" sheets and towels. Maybe I overlooked that in the original booking but I don't recall seeing that when I booked 3 months ago. Nonetheless, Matthieu is a good host and I'd recommend the property.

Wonderful Stay
We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is newly renovated and stunning. It's very pleasant, very clean and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard while our kids played. The owner was so friendly and absolutely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Also answered our questions and gave recommendations for great nearby restaurants. The location is within walking distance of the beach. We would LOVE to visit again.

A Beautiful Home... Kind, Wonderful Hosts
I cannot day enough about this wonderful gite experience. We had a vacation booked in Normandy with my daughter’s family, including two very young children. The day before we were to leave for the vacation, I found out our previous reservation had been cancelled. I was thrilled to find this property and booked it immediately. I received wonderful and helpful communication from the owners and they were very kind and considerate when they had to come check us in late in the evening after a problem with our rental car kept us from arriving on time. The gite itself is practically perfect. There are three well appointed bedrooms with storage areas for clothing and even usb outlets to charge phones, etc. there is a fully stocked kitchen with everything a family would need to prepare meals, including a stovetop, microwave, oven and full size refrigerator, which is rather rare in gites in Normandy. A wonderful large bath is upstairs with separate shower and tub, and there is a water closet downstairs. The living area is spacious and has a sectional sitting area beside a spacious dining table. The owners were extremely thoughtful, even providing small child sized coat hangers and a child’s pillow for our three year old grandson, rather than a full pillow. There was also a high chair and baby crib sized bed for the one year old grandson. The owners are also quick to provide any answers to questions we had and were very kind, friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The gite is located on a quiet and lovely street bordered by a small canal where we fed ducks. It has a fenced in yard for privacy on warm days or evenings, complete with lawn furniture so that meals could be eaten, or a bottle of wine enjoyed outside during warm weather. It was lovely, safe feeling and peaceful. . . The gite is spotless and clean. The furniture is beautiful. The tv has French, German and English languages. There is a Wii and games to play, although we mostly just enjoyed the quietness of the gite and being together as a family. There were some other games to play that the children enjoyed, and books (including a wonderful French cookbook) to look at. The location of the gite is convenient to the landing beaches, Bayeux and Caen. I would GLADLY stay there again and plan to as soon as possible. I travel to Normandy quite often, and this gite is one of the best I have experienced.

Erholung garantiert
Auf unserer kleinen Rundreise durch die Normandie haben wir das charmante Ferienhaus für eine Woche gemietet und uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Es bietet viel Platz, angenehmen Comfort und ist ausgesprochen ruhig gelegen. Man hört wirklich nur den Hahn eines Nachbarn, die Kirchenglocken und das Zwitschern der Vögel. Nachts konnten wir im Garten viele Sternschnuppen beobachen. Zum Strand ist es sehr nah. Der Ort Asnelles selbst ist sehr gepflegt, nicht überlaufen und bietet zumindest einen Supermarkt und einen Bäcker. Restaurants gibt es nicht viele. Wir haben das Mind Fox und den dazugehörigen Kiosk am Strand für gut befunden. Wer Austern mag, kann diese am Ortsrand tagsüber verkosten.

Idéal pour un séjour en famille
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette maison à deux pas des plages. We hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad in dit huis. Het huis is zeer ruim en goed verzorgd. Onze kinderen hebben zich goed vermaakt in de grote tuin. Bakker, supermarkt, strand enz op loopafstand. We komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.

Tolles Ferienhaus zum Entspannen
Schönes Ferienhaus mit allem, was man braucht. Zusätzlich ein toller Kickertisch für Familienduelle. Das wlan ist für Poweruser evt. etwas schwach, ab September soll aber wohl Glasfaser kommen. Ruhige Lage zum Entspannen. Der Strand ist wunderbar, feiner kuschelliger Sand. Ein Supermarkt und ein Bäcker sind vor Ort.
