Browse record stores and thrift shops, relax with a beer or come to watch live music in Atlanta’s most bohemian district.

Little Five Points is Atlanta’s hub of alternative culture, with quirky stores and a laid-back atmosphere. Look for old records, find bargains in the clothing stores and chat with the locals in the eclectic restaurants and cafés. Come along to one of the music festivals held here in the summer to enjoy this area at its best.

Five Points is a commercial district in the center of Atlanta and Little Five Points describes the area around its central intersection. It is known for its alternative shops and cafés and is often said to be the largest bohemian shopping area in the southern United States.

Spend some time browsing the secondhand bookstores, which sell everything from old classics to modern cult fiction. Once you’ve found a great read, take it to one of the nearby cafés. Order a coffee and sit on a couch by the window, reading and watching the lively streets outside.

Music lovers and collectors of vinyl will find plenty to enjoy in the secondhand record stores. Look for your favorite artist or hunt for a rare bargain. If fashion is your thing, then make sure you visit one of the area’s clothing stores. These unique thrift shops and warehouses offer everything from secondhand bargains to cutting-edge fashion by independent designers.

Enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants or bars. Settle down with a burger or taco paired with a glass of beer.

Be sure to check out Little Five Points during the summer months, when it really comes to life. This is when the area hosts a number of music festivals. Live acts from all over the country come here to play.

Little Five Points is located around Findley Plaza, about 4 miles (6 kilometers) from the center of Atlanta. It is easy to reach by public transport, with several buses servicing the area. It is a 10-minute drive from downtown and street parking is available.
