Lake Superior Lodge w/Private Lakefront Large Deck, Island Views, Pictured Rocks

9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (125)
"The good - the mattresses are comfortable, the location is wonderful, it’s nice that they leave some bottled water, the host is friendly, and we loved that we could bring our
dog
. The bad - the property was not sufficiently cleaned. Everything felt grimy. There were tons of cobwebs throughout, questionable stains on the bedroom floor and sofas. The comforters desperately need to be laundered. The sheets on the beds were stained and/or ripped. Please note that they have a generator if the power...

Right on the river and close to Lake Superior

"Very clean, was happy to find a king size bed rather than a full as stated in the listing. Kitchen was well stocked. Number of beds great for families or groups with kids. Thank you for being
dog
friendly. Gave four for cleanliness due to the unfinished drywall patch in the bathroom where the door was moved, apparently over a year ago based on other's reviews. The newly installed barn door slides open about four inches after being 'closed'... luckily it faces the hallway, not the living...

Treehouse on the river.

"A nice, no fuss place to spend a week with friends (and furry friends) in the UP. A good location with plenty of nice hiking nearby. Just down the road was a beautiful full sand beach. But the real treat was the river itself and the kayaks that were available for use. Such a lovely, calm river ride that was 3+ hours route down to the nearby landing spot off the bridge. The only downside was that the property was right off the road, so the fire spot wasn't very secluded, but everything else made...

Cottage #2 on AuTrain River Near Lake Superior Beach, Pictured Rocks, Waterfalls

8.4 out of 10, Very good, (85)
"Myself, my friend and his
dog
stayed for 3 nights over a weekend and really enjoyed it. Very well located in proximity to all the sights we wanted to see along Lake Superior and the UP. Cabin itself was very clean and decently equipped, the only thing we commented is it could use an over the faucet caddy in the shower to hold toiletries, and bring your own drinking water. The little neighborhood was a bit dark but that allowed us to see the Northern Lights one evening. I'd come back in the...

"A couple and their
dog
. My girlfriend & I got engaged on this trip! And it all went incredibly well because of our VRBO property rentals. This was our first extended vacation together with a
dog
and the property and surrounding areas & restaurants were all very
dog
friendly! If we ever came back to this area again I would consider rebooking this property because the stay was good. The property owners were very proactive and reached out ahead of time providing important information to us...
