"The Pavilion Hotel is my favorite place to stay on Catalina Island. It is right on the main boardwalk, overlooking the water, with easy access to all shops and restaurants. The grounds are beautiful with lounge chairs around a beautiful garden, a fire pit and tables with chairs to sit and relax. They have a daily happy hour which includes a complimentary glass of wine with cheese and crackers. The staff are all very nice and helpful. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Avalon. "

"This Victorian boutique style hotel is simple but very charming. It’s about a 5 minute ride from the Catalina Express Avalon dock and if you book a ride on Ride Circuit, it’s $2 per person. The property is old but the rooms are nicely done. I loved the shared balcony (especially since the room next to us was empty so we had the balcony to ourselves). The view of the town and ocean is amazing. The jetted tub was very nice and I made sure to pick up some bath salts in town and took a relaxing bath before going to bed. The front desk employee (Gabby) was so nice and helpful. We loved it so much we booked another night. 😍 The one thing that would have made it even better is if the windows had screens on them and if the windows could open more than a few inches. "

"This is a very nice property for people (like us) who can easily handle a lot of stair climbing. The plantings added a lot & were well-maintained. The main second floor patio would benefit from tall chairs & tables to match, so guests could sit, drink a glass of wine & see the ocean. We wound up relocating to the smaller rear 3rd floor patio, which worked after my girlfriend got a blanket out of our room & put it on top of her chair. We had a problem getting our luggage out of the storage room after lunch - no one was in the office, but a friendly lady promptly responded when we called the emergency number. "
