The property is not located where advertised. It claims to be 1 minute away from the waterside theatre and therefore not far from the train station. This was very important to me and my wife who were travelling with several heavy bags and needed to be very close to both and this is the exact reason we booked it.
However, it turns out it’s around 25 minute walk away from the theatre! As a result, we had to take a couple of Ubers back and forth and thought it only fair the host covers the cost of these given they have lied in their listing. However they have refused and hotels.com (who I’ll give a 0/10 to) aren’t interested in helping us either. I never would have booked had I known it was so far away and now I’m being held financially responsible for being misled.
For what it’s worth, the property itself was ok. It felt safe and quiet and was relatively clean.

Overpriced for very basic accommodation
You expect more when you're paying £100 for 1 night for a room. Small bed (the room itself is tiny: 2.5m x 3m) Sheets not crisp at all. No toiletries and had to share a bathroom with all the other rooms (not great). No milk in the kitchen for coffee and tea (which I would have expected). Very basic accommodation for the price.
This is a no-frills, very basic guest house. It is clean and comfortable, but there are some things that people should know. Here we go.
Pros:
Clean and quiet
Room was very nice (I had a standard room at the back of the house and that was fine for the 1 night I stayed)
Easy access when you can get it
I think it was a nice neighborhood, others may not think so
Close enough to shops to walk (15 – 20 minutes)
Cons:
Not the location as portrayed on the map. 25-minute walk from the train station, not anywhere near the Waterside Playhouse/Theater
Water is very chlorinated
Don’t check in before 3 pm. The access code is on a timer and won’t let you in till then
Shared bath and shower room when the website says “private bathroom”
No towels – that is not stated on the website
Difficulty getting access code. I had to email to get it when the instructions said that an email would be sent 24 hours before check-in. The promised email came as I was checking out.
My room was private. The kitchen was shared, but nicely allotted cupboards by room. Clean up after yourself of course. I felt safe as a woman in a house of men.
