Villa Alebrije, pool, AC near lagoon

Summary:
Villa Alebrije is located just a few steps from the famous Bacalar lagoon in a small Mayan town called Buenavista (Nice View). It is a new-build house with modern design including two identical separate bedrooms, each with private bathroom and access to its own backyard. The kitchen and dining room make it ideal for the evening BBQ's.

Villa Alebrije is a great choice for families, couples, individuals or for anybody who seeks silence and quietness.

The Space:

Buenavista is located about 20 minutes from the town of Bacalar, 30 minutes from the Caribbean coast of Mahahual and 50 minutes from the boarders of Belize. There are many archeological sites near by, as well as countless free-time activities on the lagoon.

Our house is located on the edge of the town with walkable distance to the "downtown" of Buenavista, where you can buy some groceries or prepared local meals.

There is some basic stuff for cooking in the house such as oil, salt & pepper, different spices, ketchup, mustard, hot sauces, tea & coffee. We have also a potable water barrel for our guests free to use.

Guest Access:
The access to Bacalar lagoon is only about 300 meters from our house. There is a public access, as well as entry thru local lido with 35 pesos (2 USD) fee with possibility of renting kayaks or paddle boards for additional fee. This part of Bacalar lagoon is very quiet with no motor boats around, so you can enjoy total peace!

The Neighborhood:
In case that you are planning to cook, we are recommending to make some groceries on your way to the house, preferably in town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto or Bacalar. Buenavista is a small town with few local stores where you can buy only some basic food as pasta, rice, fruits & vegetables, soft drinks, beer and more. We also recommend to buy some mosquito repellent.

Also, please note that there is not any ATM and money exchange in Buenavista, so if you need to withdraw or exchange money, you can do it in Bacalar town or somewhere on your way as well.

Getting Around:
Please just do NOT follow the AirBnb's location, it doesn't work properly! Make sure to follow the link provided in our welcome message. There is very poor cellphone service in the town of Buenavista, so in case that your maps application needs data to work, open it somewhere with still good cellphone service.

There's a public bus stop right in Buenavista as well, but own or rental car would be the best.

PLEASE NOTE
Reservations for 2 guests includes the whole property with ONE bedroom only. In case of booking for 3 or 4 guests, both bedrooms will be available. If the house is booked by 2 guests which prefer to sleep separately, a second bedroom is available for an additional cost.
