Bacchus Brewing Co., a microbrewery, bar and cellar door, is dedicated to creating both classic and new flavours. On busier nights, food is also served, making the Bacchus Brewing Co. a perfect place to spend a social afternoon or night out with friends and family.
At Bacchus all the beers are made in single keg batches, enabling the brewery to create a large variety of beers. On average, the brewery comes up with three new flavours every week and over 150 each year. Here, all styles of beer are served, from IPA, pale ale and lager, to smoked beers, stouts or even dessert beers.
The brewery and the bar are right next to each other, so if you’re in during the day watch the brewers at work. Taste a few different beers before settling on your favourite. Even those who usually don’t like beer may find something to their taste, with beers such as White Chocolate and Raspberry and Belgian Mocha Coffee Stout. Note that the flavours are constantly changing and these particular ones may not be available at the time of visiting.
Visit on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and it’s likely that you’ll be served by the owner Ross Kenrick and his family. Alternatively, come along to Thirsty Thursday where you will find a food truck and live music in the evening. If you’re with the kids there’s no need to worry: the brewery is family friendly, with board games on offer.
Bacchus Brewing is just over 20 kilometres from central Brisbane, so it takes a little bit of effort to reach if you don’t have a car. If you have to drive, the journey is about 30 minutes. From Brisbane CBD you can take the bus, changing once mid-journey and then walking for about 10 minutes once you arrive in Capalaba. Bacchus is open every day except Monday.
