SCAM! Griffin Lodge and Hotels.com are SCAM.
Griffin Lodge is a SCAM!! We had a confirmed booking on this place for February 25-27, 2022, also paid online and that it is no refund for any cancellations or rebooking. When we arrived, the whole place was barricaded with bamboo fencing. There were bystanders outside dilly dallying which looks weird and told us that there is nobody inside and that the place has been non-operational for more than two years. We tried contacting all the phone numbers associated with Griffin Lodge and there was no response or they are out of coverage. even the hotels.com is of NO help at all. None of any of the numbers are working. The next day on February 26, 2022, I recieved an e-mail that we have “signed-in” to the Lodge and that they have confirmed our stay with Hotels.com. We tried acting against it and complain to all the contact numbers but they all could not be reach.

Dishonored my Confirmed and Fully Paid Booking
#GRIFFINLODGE IS the worst and most EVIL place in Baguio. Scammer!!! The front desk SARAH MARAVILLAS has perfected her evil role of playing dumb with her annoying standard reply of "DI KO PO ALAM" They post their property in Hotels.com and yet they will not honor your paid and confirmed booking. The modus operandi is #GriffinLodgeBaguio will accept your payment thru Hotels.com / Expedia and then will bump you off as they are not aware of your booking and that they are fully booked and that they gave your confirmed and paid room to another guest! Worse is it is not a product of sheer miscommunication between the online partner and Griffin BUT AN ORCHESTRATED SCAMMING ACTIVITY THRU THE YEARS. WHAT #GRIFFINLODGE does is it will post the property in Hotels.com / Expedia for P3,352 (Nov 30 - Dec 1, 2019) inclusive of taxes, then will dishonor your confirmed and paid booking upon your arrival in this evil place. After hours of stressful negotiation, it's either the frustrated and exhausted guest (1) leaves the place without getting any apologies, compensation or refund from Griffin Lodge; or (2) continuously, patiently and religiously bombard the front desk Sarah Maravillas with guilt poking profanities, counter evilness rebuttals, etc. On Nov 30, 2019 alone, 10 out of 11 paid bookings made thru online sites like Hotels.com and Expedia opted to choose course of action 1 . I was the sole guest who pursued the 2nd course of action from 5pm to 8pm with the other bumped off guests

Its like vacationing in Baguio in the old tradition of living in a big house with a fireplace and many rooms (9) and several families of friends and relatives together. I only dont like that they are organized in their check in procedure (no computer). Also, they should always keep the kitchen very clean. They should also offer to clean the rooms daily. They can tie-up with a restaurant to offer delivered room service and/or bfst. Staff are very nice and helpful but are not hotel-trained. But i would recommend. I also like the location. I might even invite my relatives next time when we go as a group.

Felt at home
It was our home away from home! Very accommodating staff plus we were allowed early check in at 5am without extra cost! We were able to use their kitchen and dining room, night session at the verandah, plus enjoyed the comforts of the living room when it got too cold outside. We will definitely come back!

The hotel personnel are friendly and accommodating. There is an AC unit so that's a good thing but the cable TV only shows few channels and the remote controls do not work.

They overbook
I booked Rm 104 but was accommodated at Rm 103 bec. 104 was already booked by other guests (they overbooked a single room). Fortunately, the guests for Rm 103 cancelled/rescheduled so it was freed for us to stay. For future guests/other travelers, if you want to stay at Griffin, kindly phone/email them to confirm upon booking online so they won't overbooked the room. Good place to stay, tho, except room 103 is beside the water tanks. It get a bit noisy since the tanks are on automatic meaning even at nights when the water level gets low, it will automatically turn on. Not a good background sound to sleep on. Beware of the area also, the night we're going to the hotel after eating out, a guy approached us selling stolen phones.

Decent Hotel near the City centre
It is an old house converted to a hotel. It has Wood flooring, fire place in the common area, veranda, dining area and an actual kitchen that can be used. The room was comfortable. The bathroom could use some renovation though. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Inexperienced Hotel Staff
When we arrived at the hotel for check in, surprisingly the reception informed us that my booking is not in their calendar and they kept on blaming Expedia or their personnel in Manila that they were not informed regarding my booking. So, I explained to them and showed them my online receipt and confirmation that I have been booked since December 10, 2017. And another problem arise, they informed me that my room was already taken since they were not aware of my booking. My room is for 3 persons and they gave it to another guest. And to solve the dispute, they gave me the room which is good for 4 which is better. But really, the whole time dealing with tier personnel is a headache. They do not know how to handle complicated situations and kept on blaming the person who was supposed to inform them about my booking.

Avoid, terrible facilities, skeleton staff
After arriving at the hotel we were taken to a dirty room that had clearly not been cleaned yet. We asked to move room and the girl at reception moved us to another room promptly. In this room the shower was terrible, you had to hold it up yourself as it would not fix to the wall, also the shower head kept falling off the hose so we had to hold the hose to wash which resulted in the bathroom getting soaked. This combined with the fact there was no housekeeping for our stay meant our towels were absolutely soaked, the hotel advertises a 24 hour reception but 4/5 times we went to speak to someone to ask for towels or housekeeping there was no one there so we just had to use the same wet towels for two days. In addition the bed is on wheels with no head board so it slides all over the place, we had to rotate the bed sideways to get it to stop moving as much. The safe box in the room was also low on battery and it warned not to use it in case it run out whilst locked, we decided we were not going far the first night so we would ask again the next day for batteries, however as above every time we went to the reception there was no one there to ask. The staff were fine, in particular the man who sits in the box at the front drive way was very helpful and friendly, however the facilities of the hotel are sub par and I would not recommend to anyone, We were travelling Thailand and Cambodia for 8 weeks prior to this and this was by far the worst accommodation we've had so far

Poorly maintained and managed
Low rating due to filthy bathroom area with lots of mold, shower head kept on popping off, hardly saw any hotel staff except for security guard, bed kept on rolling, TV was old tube-type with cable box, however, without remote. Internet was good from the lobby but I had to call the Manila office since no staff was present at about 9am. You can prepare your own food in the disorganized and dirty kitchen.

Cozy & Homey Atmosphere
I placed my booking via Expedia and checked-in late in the evening. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very sweet and accommodating to me and my guests. The building itself is very large and has rooms sub-terrain, on the main floor and the second floor. The building looks like a mid-century modern home, converted into the lodge it is now. The common space was clean and spacious and even had a terrace off the reception area. Our room was on the second floor and had very high ceilings, lots of space to walk around and maneuver, A/C, large window for natural light, full bathroom and shared terrace as well. All aspects of the room were up to standard - clean, tidy, and presentable. We stayed only for one night, but we were very content with everything the Griffin Lodge provided.

Good location, maintenance/upkeep need improvement
The hotel is basically a large 70s/80s style house with plenty of rooms. It's located fairly close to Burnham Park. Our room was quite large as well (junior suite). However, maintenance and upkeep of the facilities need a lot of improvement. During our first morning, we woke up to no water - causing maybe a 2-hour delay to our activities. The windows were very hard to open / close. The floor under the beds seem like they haven't been swept in ages. Also, no offer to clean the room was made. In the afternoon of our third day, the bathroom sink fell from its bracket. Hotel staff did not know what to do. We had to wait for them to figure it out - again, causing us to forgo our afternoon plans in the city. Finally they just propped it up with a stool (still unusable though as the drain pipe was also disconnected). Staff said they'll have it fixed when we leave for dinner. By the time we came back, the sink was still not fixed (because they could not find a replacement screw!) Luckily, we really planned on leaving early the next morning. During checkout, no hotel staff were present (it was around 7:30am). We had to leave the key to the lone security guard on duty. To give him credit, he has been most helpful throughout our entire stay.

Excellent location; nice family place.
good for family esp if you want to cook your own meals (downside is if you happen to stay there while there's a huge grp of family who almost all the time occupy the common areas); has fireplace; clean rooms but no longer cleans it after check in; big windows; nice pillow & bedding; courteous staff.

Convenient, clean.
On a back street away from that main road, so pretty quiet. Security guard was the only person there when. We arrived, and it took him about 15 minutes to verify our reservation. Neat, clean, quiet, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Within a few blocks of city center.
