Amazing property for a girls trip.The staff was kind and helpful. Loved at the proximity to the beach and transportation. Amazing restaurants close by and easy to access all of the things Catalonia has to offer!

The room was very large with a sectional sofa, a wide desk, a king-sized bed, and a large, walk-in shower. The bathroom had marble walls and floors. All of the staff understood and spoke English. They were patient, kind, and helpful. There was an in-house restaurant that was always open, two beautiful bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym. Breakfast buffet was available and discounted if pur hased with the room.

Hotel Icaria is a lovely option for staying in El Poblenou. Very close to transport links, the beach and the Poblenou Rambla. The staff were lovely & friendly and the hotel was very clean.

The front desk staff here are mixed, some fine, but some beyond terrible. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels globally and have never encountered this level of direct rudeness for basic requests. Everything seemed like an affront to some of them, with open eyerolls and at times even aggression. I asked for only two or three things all trip (five days, a combined booking across two reservations), but could not even get them to provide a sheet for my 2-yr old daughter’s crib when she was crying with tiredness after travel and desperate to sleep. Unforgivable.

I had mosquitos in my room and broken floorboards so I asked for a room change upon arrival. My second room also had mosquitos in and night reception advised that every room in the hotel was like this. The water wouldn’t go down the plug hole in the shower and the shower gel in the bath was empty on arrival - I had to ask twice for it to be refilled. I have stayed here every year for the last 3 years as I attend an annual conference in Barcelona but the quality of the rooms combined with the customer service has severely deteriorated and I won’t be staying there again.

Great little boutique hotel

SB Icaria was a one night stay before our cruise. It was a much needed place of refuge while getting used to our time zone change! The service was warm and inviting, and the beds were among the best I’ve had. They even have a thoughtful “pillow menu” for you to choose where you dream and rest your head! Highly recommended hotel.
