Remodeled Penthouse in the heart of Downtown Basalt, historic 1900's Building

An utterly unique lodging experience- Located in the heart of historic downtown Basalt. This top floor penthouse in the circa 1903 WW Frey Building is as charming as it is convenient. Exposed brick walls, high ceilings and big sunny windows define the spacious 1560 square foot, open floor plan living room/ dining /kitchen space. Comfortable Aspen -Euro- chic furnishings and vintage carved wood accent pieces throughout make this property extra special. *Sleeps 2 guests* The master bedroom features a king bed and a seating area. The main bathroom has a claw foot bath tub , a euro glass shower and double sinks. There is a powder room as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. The living room has a tv and there is a separate den/ office with a flat screen tv as well. Heated parking garage space is located across the street from the property. Great location- walk to the bus stop and take the convenient buses to Aspen and surrounding towns. Aspen is just up the road and you can be on the ski slope in 25 minutes. Walk to the great restaurants and shopping in downtown as well as the summertime Sunday Farmer's market. Two rivers run through downtown Basalt and we are famous for our Gold Medal Fly Fishing waters- take a stroll by the Roaring Fork River or Frying Pan River. The Brick Pony Pub operates on the ground level of the Frey building- stop in for Basalt's best burger and a beer and meet some locals while you're here! ***There is a $175 housekeeping fee for this property - your rental agreement says that you will leave a check for the housekeeper for this amount or venmo her. if Note: this property is accessed via a flight of stairs from the street to the 2nd floor. Fantastic place to stay! Comes with everything you might need and comfy beds to boot. There’s several delicious restaurants/cafes within walking distance and the ski slopes are just a short drive away. Will definitely be trying to stay here again for our next trip out here!

Ski vaca with some buddies
Great condo, stayed here with 3 other friends for 4 nights. Comfortable beds. Loft style w exposed brick gave it really cool feel and the plush leather couch/chairs were very comfortable after a day of skiing. Right in old town Basalt, you are right above the Brick Pony Pub. So you will likely be able to enjoy their live music in the evening. Heated garage parking was a plus, would definitely stay here again.

My third time here and I just love it!
This has to be one of the best hidden gems in Colorado! I first stayed here a few years ago, and it has become a regular go to for ski trips for me and members of my family. A must try for sure!

Must Stay
This place is a definite “Must Stay”. If you happen to be in the Aspen/Basalt area and looking for a place to stay, this is it. It has all the feels of a small-town historic building (because it is) & yet has all the updated amenities one could ask for. The space is amazing. The whole unit is very well kept. Beds were so comfortable, and linens very fresh. We are a family of 4, our youngest being 17, and this place was perfect for us. I will say that if you have mobility issues or can’t do stairs this, unfortunately, will not be the place for you. The check-in & check-out times seemed extreme, but Stacey was totally willing to work with us on those too. Stacey is a gem & gave us lots of information on places to go and things to do. She is super easy to work with & very accommodating. We are so happy we found this place & can’t wait to stay here again.

Really nice place on the main strip in Basalt with several great restaurants and cafes nearby. Very convenient distance from Aspen & Snowmass too. Really enjoyable place to hang after a long ski day. Comfortablly sleeps 6. Only one shower though so be careful not to use all the hot water!

Amazing loft, just a couple oddeties
The place is beautiful and very well equipped for cooking/enjoying the stay. We loved it, just a couple things folks should know. It is directly above a bar, which you can hear until 10 or 11. They say you can call them after 10 of it's too loud but who wants to have to do that. The bedroom windows also appear to open to the bars deck. We were there in the winter so it wasn't an issue but if patrons are out there in the summer it would be. 2. The parking is a block away. Not a big deal but worth knowing. 3. For some really odd reason the management company makes you leave a check for the cleaners. So the cost you see on vrbo isn't the real total. They should really include it in the vrbo quote and pay the cleaners themselves (I didn't see there now until afterwards and wasn't happy with the surprise cost and chore of paying them myself).
