"hotel was clean receptionist was polite and a fast check in. the area is considered unsafe but honestly just keep your wits about you and its friendly enough not all that bad more interesting. great for finding party products. we ate nearby and there was lots of selection. i would stay again if I returned to Brussels. "We had a super experience with our host whose communication was excellent. We were a bit disappointed on check in to learn that the single bed was only really intended for children (whilst it was big enough for a small adult it wasn't all that comfy). The apartment was well cleaned and had some basics in the cupboard (eg coffee) but possibly due to the bathroom being in the basement it did have a slight smell of drains. Our host very kindly let us leave our bags in the apartment for a few hours...

"The apartment was very good, very comfortable for 5 adults. The area was not the best one, walking to the apartment late at night we had to look over our shoulders constantly. Saturday morning we were woken up with a very loud noise of someone using a VAP right outside our window, and for a quite long period of time. It was after 8am, but we didn't expect that much noise on a Saturday morning. "

"The location is fairly close to the train station. The room itself was okay, though not as described. It was supposed to have 3 standard pads and a double. It had 1 standard, 1 double, and a BUNK bed. It was also supposed to have an elevator- a lie. Check in was difficult. You have to call them and then FIND the location and then use an intercom and their English is very limited and the sound is tough. You then go into the building and are called into a back office-- they don't greet you-- and...

"I was very dissatisfied why my stay with Smart flats. They do respond to the issues you report, but they do not fix them. The elevator was not working and I of course was on the 6th floor! I reported there was no remote for the TV but never got one. I reported no shampoo dispenser, but they never fix it. They of course respond to my reports, but nothing gets done."

"The room was nice, but they gave me and the person ahead of me in the check-in line the wrong room, which was frustrating for both of us. I booked a superior room which two queen sized beds, but they initially gave us a room with just one bed. However, once I went back down they fixed it quickly which was appreciated. "

"Everything was good. Excellent service in the breakfast, the servers were amazing and the breakfast was delicious with a lot of variety, and the hotel in general was very elegant and nice. The smell in the hotel with the candles and the candy station was so nice and sweet for the season. The only thing I found is that some of the staff at the reception were kind of rude sometimes and sarcastic, but only some of the team the other part was amazing and very polite and helpful during check out. "
