This VRBO rental property is 3200 square feet and is the first level of a 5000 square foot multi-million-dollar home directly on the Sudden Valley golf course with the most beautiful views of Lake Whatcom and foothills, this property is currently the largest and most desirable home inside the Sudden Valley community.

This beautifully decorated rental property is completely private with absolutely NO shared spaces, with private entrance and parking. The rental space has very high,13-foot ceilings, two large bedrooms with walk in closets, two full bathrooms, fitness room, private movie theater with surround sound and reclining lounge chairs, SONOs sound system throughout the rental property, controlled by mounted IPAD or your smartphone.

This property offers the BEST view of Lake Whatcom and the Sudden Valley golf course from every room in the property.

This rental space has a kitchen area with everything a family needs to prepare meals, including a two burning electric stove top, instant pot, microwave oven, hot plate, George Forman indoor/outdoor grill, outdoor BBQ, two large toaster ovens, three coffee makers, slow cooker/electric pot and a toaster. There is one medium size refrigerator, one large mini refrigerator inside the exercise room and a mini freezer inside the storage space, along with a washer and dryer.

The rental property is located on Lake Whatcom offering 12 miles of clean, glacier fed water and is perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, sailing, boating and fishing. The rental property is also perfect for that winter ski getaway, with just a short drive to Mt. Baker.

The rental property also overlooks the first green of one of the most beautiful and scenic golf courses in the state of Washington, the Sudden Valley Golf Course. The front nine of Sudden Valley is relatively open and flat and borders the shores of Lake Whatcom. Fairway landing areas are relatively generous, and the greens are large.

However, the back nine follows a ridge uphill with narrow evergreen-fringed fairways and smaller greens that have more character. (Please See Video Link)

The Sudden Valley community offers activities for all ages, amenities included parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, pickle ball courts, fitness center, two pools, four beaches, two off leash dog park and miles of hiking and biking trails. The Community Center recreation area includes a state-of-the-art fitness center and outdoor Olympic size swimming pool with lifeguard for all ages and an adult pool with sauna for adults only.

Misrepresentation
Please be aware of this property. Make sure to get claim insurance because this owner claims damage when the property was already damaged upon arrival. Hot tub is not covered Gym equipment doesn’t work only the elliptical Only a hot plate so don’t plan on cooking big meals for family. Dog barking upstairs and owner in and out blocking the driveway so you can’t load or unload your belongings. A very steep driveway to walk down to get to their basement. The owner claimed damage so beware and we did nit even use the treadmill other than turn it on because it wouldn’t work. I am sad that there is no honesty in rentals anymore. Even after leaving the property cleaner than when we arrived. I have used VRBO for years and this is the first time I have been disappointed in the ownership of this property. I hope I am heard so that you can tread lightly or not at all with false claims and dishonesty. Sincerely, Danielle

Spectacular!!!
This is everything you would want in a place to stay. Not only was it everything that was promised, but unexpected details were a great surprise. Like the retro sit and spin for the grand kids, along with numerous other great toys they could play with and help them feel at home. Can’t wait to return!!

Fun weekend getaway
The property was a great home base for our weekend away! Great value for the space. Our family really enjoyed the theater room. Everything was clean and things were easy to find. The host was responsive and easy to work with. Our kids really loved the home!

Bellingham Visit
The property was awesome - right on the golf course, close to downtown Bellingham. The only real problem was lack of communication of where the key was located, no book or instructions on the internet/Wi-Fi connection, how to work the lights in the house (very state-of-the-art system), & what we must do on departure?? Typical guidance that is usually available. Even though The owner lived in the upper level of the house, we did not make contact. I could not get into my VRBO app because I forgot my password & could not get good Wi-Fi reception on my phone. So we made do, had a great visit w/my granddaughter who goes to WWU, & would love to stay at house again w/more communication, which could be my fault as much as anyone else!

Sudden Valley summer - golf course
I think it is important for the renters to know is that the renting portion of the house is actually a basement. The site shows and picture of the whole house and refers to 5000 sf, but the owner stays on the first level and the bottom partly in the ground portion of the house is being rented. there is no AC and I felt the house is overpriced and left a day early. The location is really nice.

Loved it!
I booked a last-minute getaway here for my family of 5 over Labor Day weekend. We had a lovely time. The is plenty to do for all ages - so much that we didn’t get to it all. The lake access is very convenient for taking paddleboards out and we were pleasantly surprised to discover several outstanding restaurants in the area. The theater and hot tub provided excellent entertainment when the weather wasn’t great and we wanted to stay in. We hope to come back again very soon!

Wonderful stay
Our family of 5 plus dog had a great experience at this beautiful home. The off leash dog park was fantastic! Everyday we would take a cooler, some chairs, a beach umbrella and set up shop right by the water and watch all the pups play. The kids loved it. The water was so nice and surprisingly warmer then we thought it would be. Nicole left the membership card for the recreation center in the drawer so we took full advantage of the pool also. Everyday we would enjoy the hot tub and watch the sun go down. At night the kids would hang out in the theater room while the adults enjoyed drinks on the patio next to the fire pit. There was enough room in the 2 small fridges and mini freezer for our family of 5 for 5 days. We just brought costco pre-made meals, stuff for sandwiches, burgers and dogs. I would suggest bringing some ice, a cooler is provided so we used that for our drinks. Nicole was a great host and was quick to respond with any questions or concerns. She left us easy directions on how to use everything and all the different places to go, eg: restaurants, hiking, golfing. All in all a great vacation!

STUNNING VIEWS and great location
The house was perfect for family of 5. The location is great by the lake with Mountain View, wilderness of nature. Lots of things to do and visit within 1.5 h drive the most. We will definitely come back. The host was very responsive and helpful!!

NW Paradise
Our family had the most amazing time at this property. The home was immaculate. Stocked & supplied with everything we needed. The kayaks were so fun. Awesome house!
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of spending 1 month in this beautiful house. To wake up to such beautiful surroundings in your backyard was beyond amazing ! We had a wonderful time walking to the lake, kayaking and taking our dogs to the dog park there. The house was spotless and everything we needed was right there for us. There’s an awesome hot tub for use and a fire pit which made for some beautiful romantic evenings. Our hostess Nicole and her husband are wonderful people who made sure we were having a great time and had everything we needed. I highly recommend this house not only for its beautiful surroundings but perfect location to experience the best that Bellingham has to offer. You won’t be disappointed!

Relaxing retreat
I was late booking a retreat spot for my family. Lucking Taylor's Resort was available. Given the luxuries; hot tub, exercise room, theatre, I would have expected a full stove & fridge. We made due with hot plate, microwave, outdoor grills and coolers. Might clarify the kitchen area for future guests. I enjoyed being so near the first holes of the golf course. The view is open and lovely. The Lake air is wonderful. Some took a dip in the lake at the park by the boating area. I had an ankle sprain prior to our visit so I preferred the hot tub. I was challenged during unloading with coolers and food etc. The pathway was a bit steep for an ankle boot. I would suggest talking to the owners regarding better access through the garage for loading and unloading gear to and from the lower level. Finally I found the location convenient to WWU for graduation. Lakeway drive and Whatcom Lake road are essentially the same road. What a lovely place to celebrate and relax.

A Real Gem
We are a Grandma and Grandpa (70ish) with two grandkids (11 and 15) and a dog. I started looking for a place to get away on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend (three nights). I found this place and was able to rent it starting the following day. Thank you, Nicole. As with any vacation rental, there were pros and cons. First the good. My son and his wife and baby daughter and dog joined us for our last night. This place accommodated all of us with no trouble. The patio overlooking the golf course was perfect. There is a large table with chairs, a couch and chairs around a lovely firepit, a grill, and a hot tub that was all fired up and ready for us. We ate all of our meals out there. The movie room was an incredible bonus. Even our one day of rain didn't keep us from walking to the marina and park. The not-so-good: This is a daylight basement apartment. The walkway down (not stairs) is steep. My legs were sore the day after we returned home, but that's a good thing! If you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you. The kitchen is challenging. Because of the pictures and description from Nicole, and a review from one disgruntled renter, I came prepared for this. Countertop space and a small sink were my biggest issues. There is an extra room/office that I used as an extension of the kitchen. Since there was no space for stacking dirty dishes next to the sink, I bought some paper plates and cups. Between the grill and the hot plate, I was able to cook some fabulous meals. We would love to come back again.

Great getaway.
We had a wonderful week in Sudden Valley. The home is spacious, well maintained, and very clean. The view from the patio is beautiful. The mature landscaping was stunning. We saw a lot of wildlife, and really enjoyed the nearby dog park. This is a very quiet and friendly neighborhood. The owner is excellent to work with.
