"This home is a gem in Southern Humboldt. Just steps from the historic Benbow golf course. My kids loved the pool, it’s big and deep. Easy access right off Hwy 101, near the town of Garberville with good grocery stores. Close to Redwood groves and swimming holes on the Eel River. Comfortable beds and amazing views."

"We really enjoyed our stay at this mountain hill home. So clean and comfortable. It was equipped with the necessary high speed wi-fy as well as 2 smart tvs. We did have a couple of issues that were quickly resolved by the owner and property manager as communication with them was excellent. The mountain and valley views from the front porch was magnificent. This was our second stay at this home and will definitely request it again in the future trips!"

"We were only here for one night and the weather was too chilly to take a dip in the pool. Parking was close to the guest house/pool. Nicely decorated but it’s small. Fortunately lots of outdoor space! Bed was very comfortable. Nice towels and many toiletries provided. Perfect location if you are looking to tour the Redwoods. Two things that kept me from giving 5 star rating were: there was old coffee(how old?) in the pot and the refrigerator is located outside of the unit and it wasn’t clean."

"The place was great in so many ways. The view and the beach and the sunset…. Just gorgeous. I never saw anyone who worked at the hotel. Apparently, ice is available in the office (according to the guide in the room), yet no one episode ever there, and there was nothing looking like a freezer. Again, the place is mostly great, just weird to never interact with a human once the booking was solid. "

Everyone was so nice and friendly and the Deer Haven cabin was a delightful place to stay - cozy and comfortable with fun rustic decor and a big comfortable bed. The heater worked great. "My husband and I stayed at the property Nov 2024. The home and location are even better than could be portrayed in a listing. We have 10-15 year told kids and they would have loved it as well. The views from every side of the home are great, the hot tub was clean and ready to be used, and the home was just so comfortable! We would recommend 100% and can’t wait to go back one day!"

"You can't beat the environment. It's in the middle of the redwoods. Each cabin-like room has big trees close by. The room is cute, like an antique; if this is your type of thing you probably would like it. However, it's quite old. The bathroom tube makes screeching noise (thankfully just for a minute or two) when first using faucet; the heater has a loud noise (dropping of water?) in the middle of night which woke us up. So we decided to turn the heater off -- it wasn't very cold that night,...

"We loved this little cabin! It had everything we needed! One thing to be aware of: the local pickleball community has adopted part of the street leading to the cabin as their courts. They’ll move to let you by, but it gets a bit crowded at times and they’re less than thrilled about stopping play to move their nets. Other than that, it was excellent!"

"Property is beautiful. Waterfront is so nice. Definitely not super fancy but does the job. French press coffee only. Did not like that. One had a crack in it. Our only real complaint was the number of flies we had to kill every afternoon in the kitchen. If the owner fixed the kitchen door this won’t be a problem. Beautiful place. Would stay again. Would have liked a microwave and kcup coffee pot."

"Alessandra was great, we couldn't figure out how the TV worked so she came over,called the owner, and had us up and running in no time. If we had a question, we would text her, and she would get right back to you with an answer, I really couldn't want a better host. The property was very nice also. We were pleasantly surprised that the water filtration system allows you to drink straight from the tap so we could refill our water bottles too. The bed was very comfortable, it was clean and well-kept. The location is central to the beautiful attractions of the redwoods. We took several hikes and had a fancy dinner at the Bennie Inn. Highly recommend!"
