Enjoy a relaxing day of swimming and snorkelling during the week or come here on a summer Sunday for one of the famous drumming sessions at sunset.

Benirrás Beach, tucked away on Ibiza’s northwest coast, is one of the island’s most cherished areas. For years it has been a place for artists and hippies to congregate for dancing and music sessions on the beach. These days, Benirrás is also a popular destination for regular tourists, including honeymooners and families. The bay’s sheltered location also makes it a popular spot for private boats and yachts to drop anchor.

The beach is a 10-minute drive from the resort town of San Miguel. The approach to the beach is beautiful. You will travel along a winding road until you reach Benirrás, a bay surrounded by rolling hills covered in pine trees. The beach is small with soft, white sand.

Benirrás Beach is bordered on both sides by rocks. When wading in for a swim on either end of the beach, take care not to stumble. Kids and adults alike can clamber over the boulders in search for rock pools or snorkel around the rocky seabed. The clear water gives you a great view of the magical world beneath the surface.

Every Sunday musicians gather on the beach for a jam session. Join in and let the rhythms inspire you to dance barefoot on the sand, or simply sit back and listen.Benirrás Beach is fully equipped with a variety of amenities. Parasols and lounge chairs are available for rent, along with paddleboats and canoes. For lunch or dinner, choose between three restaurants, all of which serve delicious international and local dishes. A bar opens for business when the beach is especially busy.

Like most beaches, Benirrás is at its busiest during the summer months. During the colder winters its restaurants may shut down for the season, but a beach walk here is pleasant year-round. If you want to witness the Sunday drumming session, then plan on getting to the beach early to secure a parking space.

Watch jelly fish, might be tome of year we went, but nice little cove and you can get on a ferry boat from there. This was October but weather was really hot for that time of year and this helped.
