"Horrible service. We were 2 couples that paid a week in advance through Hotels.com, confirmation was emailed and I phoned 3 times to confirm because we were going to arrive a bit earlier because we have a wedding close by. When we arrived they did not want to give us our room keys because they said they did not receive payment. We spoke to the 2 girls working there, which was very unproffesional eating chips and handling our phones without any sanitation etc, we showed them proof of payment,...

"This is an old house, and most equipment and appliances are broken. The towels are old and leave you messy after use. There's no breakfast as advertised. There are no air conditioners in the building—no single window in the room I was taken to. Even though there's a door I could leave open, other guests are in the building, so leaving it open was not an option. I had to share toilets and a bathroom with other guests. Very terrible experience. "

"Overnight stay before safari - we arrived in the dark after a flight delay and had to leave early so unable to enjoy most of the facilities - but the room was clean, great facilities, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff (the receptionist even walked me to the nearest restaurant). Great breakfast. Situated just inside gated estate with high security. Only comment on room is the toilet is inside a frosted glass shower enclosure in the room."

However, management is supposed to provide facilities such as self-cooking services at affordable prices rather than sending guests to buy food from the mall which may be too expensive or the food will be cold. "The Parkwood has an excellent location close to Rosebank. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our hotel room was large with a big bathroom and dressing area and a sitting area. The dining area and indoor/outdoor seating were very inviting. "

Like the proximity to Sandton City and Mandela Sq! All in all I thought the Raphael was very good value for money!
