Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Raleigh
5/5 Excellent
Great stay. Ignore haters. Would stay again
"The man at the front desk ( after midnight- check in June 25-26) was super nice. We arrived late but he was very helpful. So was another young man working there. He stood outside as we brought luggage in and my husband parked the car to watch for our safety. ( There were a couple of homeless men hanging out at the gas station) I really appreciated that.
Contrary to other reviews, its not a bad area of town. Other nice hotels and many restaurants and businesses are there. It's not the fault of the hotel that police permit illegal activities going on around the area. We didn't witness any of it. I'm sure that's why the hotel doesn't permit visitors and has tight security measures. We felt safe inside.
As for the room, it was updated and nice. It wasn't spotless. Walls, doors and floors could use a little better clean, but linens, sink, shower, toilet and furniture were very clean. Beds were very comfy. If you get cold easily, you might bring an extra blanket. A/C worked very well.
Breakfast was waffles and cereal with milk, juice and coffee. For the price, it was nicer than we expected.
Ignore the reviews of nit pickers and hard to please people. Those people should choose a $150+ a night hotel.
They have luggage carts. The elevator and ice machine work.
They are 100% smoke, vape and pet free. We prefer that, but for some that wouldn't work."
