Located on a quiet country lane 4 minutes from the quaint township of Berry and the iconic Seven Mile Beach, this well-appointed, comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage overlooks a dairy farm with rolling green pastures and distant hills.
Berta's cottage sleeps up to 6 people. Linen and towels are included, and many extra touches to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The cottage is on 3/4 acre of garden with a covered gazebo with wood burning BBQ, a games room, herb garden, fruit trees and fragrant flowers, and is surrounded on 3 sides by farmland.
Berry is a vibrant village with a diverse range of cafes & boutiques. The cottage is close to many activities including walks, swimming and surfing, fishing, canoeing, golf, wine tasting, markets, great restaurants and stunning rural scenery.
The two double bedrooms open on to the north-facing verandah at the front of the house with outdoor furniture - the perfect spot to enjoy the peace and quiet and spectacular rural views while enjoying a freshly brewed coffee or glass of wine. The third bedroom with 2 single beds overlooks the farm next door.
The well equipped kitchen boasts a country pantry equipped with a coffee machine and pantry essentials including oil, specialty tea and coffee.
The lounge room offers comfortable lounges, recycled and eclectic furniture with a cozy wood combustion fire perfect for cool Winter evenings, and air conditioning for the warmer months.
Two bathrooms are offered with toiletries, one with a walk in shower, the other you may enjoy a leisurely bath looking out the large picture window.
Berta's Cottage check in time is 3 pm and check out time is 10 am. Other times may be arranged when available.
Berry is a delightful popular holiday destination with wonderful cafes and shopping. Don't forget a visit to the Berry Markets (4th Sunday of the month), there are other markets each week in nearby towns. Take a drive to nearby attractions including swimming at Seven Mile beach at Shoalhaven Heads or Gerroa, the Blow hole at Kiama, whale watching at Jervis Bay, canoeing and lunch at the Kangaroo Valley, or Cambewarra Mountain lookout. For the more adventurous, the Coast walk from Gerringong to Kiama - the views will take your breath away.
Wineries and restaurants abound in this beautiful region. Enjoy a casual lunch or pizzas at Mountain Ridge winery, or lunches in Berry at Hedgehogs, The Garden, Il Locale Gelato cafe, and dinners at the Berry Hotel, Indika Indian and the Post House. In Gerroa we love seafood at the Blue Swimmer Restaurant, in Gerringong lunch at Sea Vista or The Hill, or for great vegetarian, The Perfect Break by the Surf Shop.

At the cottage, relax with magazines, books and board games in the lounge room. Love the beautiful views from the deck or try out your culinary skills in the well appointed kitchen using fresh herbs from the garden. Enjoy a quiet stroll or ride along the country lane with the 3 bikes in the garage - extra bikes and equipment can be hired at the local Berry bike shop.
In Berry you can enjoy the monthly local markets, Thursday produce market, breakfast at Il Locale or Milkwood Bakery, sip tea at the Berry Tea Shop, enjoy coffee at IV coffee or wander the many beautiful and unusual shops.
Further afield, go for a scenic mountain drive to the Kangaroo Valley, visit the numerous wineries, bush walk in the National Park, visit the Fleet Air Arm museum, fish or surf or swim at the Seven Mile Beach, play golf or visit the seaside charms of Kiama or Gerringong.

How to get there:
Berta's Cottage is a 4 minute drive from Berry and a 15 minutes drive from Kiama.
It is about a 2 hours drive south of Sydney and about 20 minutes drive north of Nowra. The train stops in Berry.
From Sydney after the sign saying Berry and before the shops, turn left at the motel into Tannery Road. This goes under a low railway bridge and past the David Berry hospital and turns into Beach Road. After 2 km turn left at the bus shelter into Harley Hill Road. From Nowra go through the Berry shops and turn right at the motel into Tannery Road and follow the instructions as above.
