Our extremely energy efficient home is located in a very private country area with beautiful views of the Androscoggin River and the White Mountains. It's a very peaceful setting. The large deck on the back of the house looks over the river. The location is only a few miles to the picturesque town of Bethel, ME which has restaurants, gift shops, a Post Office, a pub, a grocery store, a movie theater, a mineral museum and hardware store.

The house has a master suite that includes a king sized bed, two closets, and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a twin - that pulls out to a king, a small desk, a closet, and a TV.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything that you will need to cook. The guest bathroom includes a shower, a vanity, a toilet, and a washer and dryer.

The open concept living area has one sofa, two chairs, a TV, a kitchen island with three stools, a dining area, and a desk area.

The total size of the house is 1400 sq. ft.

Within an hour of the house are some of the finest hiking trails, skiing, and other outdoor recreational activities in all of New England.

The house is perfect for a peaceful, romantic getaway!

Stunning view !! Beautiful Home !! Amazing host !
Our Host Scott was amazing !! He met us at the the house and gave us the tour of the home . He gave us suggestions of restaurants and places to see in the area .One was the Grafton Notch state park which we loved ! The house was beautiful and immaculate and stocked with everything you need for cooking ! The view was amazing of the Androscoggin River and mountains and it was fun to watch all the people Kayaking, and tubing down the river ! The bed was super comfortable ! This was the place we needed to get away from it all as it was so private and quiet ! We have found our gem ! We would certainly re-book ! Thank you for everything Scott hope to be back next year !

Bethel Hiking/Kayaking/Biking Vacation
We had a wonderful vacation and were thrilled with the location we picked. Scott (the homeowner) greeted us and showed us around this modern, clean, and efficiently laid out vacation home. The location was perfect for a quiet getaway. We loved the wooded setting with beautiful views of the Androscoggin River and mountains in the distance. The photos are great but it’s more impressive in person. The temperatures were in the 90s during the first several days of our mid-June vacation, and the air conditioning effortlessly kept the home at a consistent comfortable 71 degree temperature. We found several mountain hikes (with shaded trails that made the heat tolerable) and waterfalls nearby that we thoroughly enjoyed. Kayaking on the swift flowing Androscoggin River (including past the home) was an absolute blast. We found downtown Bethel to be close-by and convenient, and we enjoyed trying different restaurants / brew pubs in the area for dinner each evening. My wife and I look forward to returning for a future vacation getaway, maybe a ski trip next! There is so much more to see and do in this spectacular area than we could in just our short five day vacation. Thanks again Scott.

Truly Exceptional!
What a Special Place!! Stunning view of the river. Exceptionally clean, modern and well-appointed property. Kitchen had the best and most dishes, utensils, appliances and consumable pantry items of any property we’ve stayed at. The home is a model of energy efficiency and thoughtful design. There was even a desk with a large monitor and river view for our remote work, and a 2nd desk in the one bedroom for conference calls. Home has DSL speed internet and an AT&T signal strong enough for 35 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up hotspot. Scott met us to introduce us to the property and show us around the place that he is deservedly proud of. Excellent communication and the few questions/concerns we had were immediately addressed. We were here for a working ski week - Sunday River was a 15 minute drive with ample mid-week parking close to the lodge. But, we we’re just as happy returning to this property because it was so serene and beautiful! We'll definitely be returning.

Another wonderful stay
Our second stay at Scott's place. His house is by far the nicest VRBO we have ever stayed at. It is appointed with everything we need, Scott leaves breakfast goodies which are much appreciated, and the views of the river from almost every window are spectacular and serene. The house aesthetics are a perfect balance of practical and beautiful. There are nice walks out the door, skiing and hiking is close by, as are restaurants that rival some of Portland's great eateries. The only thing that is difficult when we are there is deciding whether to linger on the couch and watch the meandering river, or head out on an adventure.

Great mountain retreat
Scott was the consummate host- he greeted us at his home to make sure we found our way-we arrived late and in the dark- and proudly showed us all the house's offerings. The house is beautifully appointed and had amazing views of the mountains and Androscoggin River with an abundance of wildlife to watch for. We loved coming back from skiing at Sunday River to a cozy home to cook and share meals together and relax! Thank you- we can't wait to visit again in a different season to see the beauty of Maine!

One of the nicest VRBOs we have ever stayed in. Quiet, stunning views of the river, well appointed and artistically decorated house, great communication with Scott, located close to Bethel's fabulous restaurants and lots of local hiking. Amazing views, peaceful and relaxing
Our first time in Maine and it was perfect. If you are looking for a beautiful home that offers peace and tranquility, this is the place! The view of the Androscoggin River can be seen from almost every window of the home. The patio also provides a serene environment overlooking the river and woods. We saw wild turkeys with their little ones daily. The home is beautiful inside, exceptionally clean, fully equipped kitchen, and the beds are very comfortable. It is your home away from home. The town of Bethel is only a few miles away and has a wonderful cafe and bakery, grocery store and the ambience of a small home town. You will not be disappointed!

Just a wonderful week
The house was beautiful. It was nice to have the owner there to great us and go over the home. Fantastic views of the river and mountains. Several local places to fish as well as right there at the house. Local places to eat and shop were a bonus as well. Just a very relaxing week. Hope to go again.

Getaway in scenic Maine
This house is amazing!! Through the years we have stayed in at least a dozen VRBO houses and this is the nicest, best furnished and best supplied home we have ever visited. The owner, Scott, walked us through all the details, and there are a few, regarding this home. He was a great host and loves sharing his home. Bethel is a neat NE town with lots to do nearby. Nothing but positive comments from us. The pictures of the home are very accurate, but there is not a picture of a nice deck/patio which is connected to the house overlooking the river.

Enchanting respite

Perfect Location!!!
This is an amazing place which is right on the river with epic views...the views right off the back porch just never got old. We came up to spend a few dates ATVing in the surrounding area. The decision to stay in a fairly remote location versus an ATV friendly town was one I would make again and again. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t already provided. I appreciated everything Scott did from communication prior to our arrival to the preparation for when we arrived.

Scott has an amazing place on the river. Very beautiful house, quiet and less than 10 minutes from Sunday river skiing. Driveway during mud season can be very muddy so need a 4 wheel drive.

Majestic Scenery
We had a wonderful week in February at this property. After a warm greeting from the owner, we enjoyed the view of the river and mountains from the main room. Waking up each morning to that scene was a great start to each new day. The design of the house is thoughtful with bedrooms separated by the main room and it is provisioned expertly for renters to feel comfortable while away from home. There is plenty of room to relax or work in this peaceful setting.

A winning Combination: A wonderful house and a Generous Host
We stayed at Scott's house for 10 days and had a great time. The house is located just 15 minutes from Sunday River Ski resort. The view from the living room is amazing. You can watch wild life, the ever changing river and the sunset above the nearby mountains. We loved the small details like fruits and breakfast items. I love to cook and I found everything I needed. You feel like you are invited in a friend' s house. Between the WIFI and the cell phone coverage my husband could do his Zoom calls without any issues. We visited during a record cold week end ( -21 degree with a 40 mph winds) and the heating system kept the house warm. Scott is a wonderful host, he replied immediately to our questions and made sure everything was going well. He was very accommodating with our check out time. Thank you Scott. We will be back.

The perfect getaway
It's impossible to start talking about Scott's home without the view. I've previously stayed in some stunning places: a charming spot overlooking Marienplatz in Munich, across the street from iconic temples and castles in Japan, by the ocean over Cape Cod, and in the midst of the rainforests in Thailand. This tops them all. Simply stated, Scott's place provides a sight that can't be beat. Scott also keeps the home impeccably clean. Everything is spotless, and the interior is decorated to be modern and stylish while still being both cozy and practical. I ended up doing quite a bit of cooking. Scott keeps his kitchen well stocked!! He left us some food to eat as well, which was much appreciated. The kitchen is well equipped, and although I did miss both my food processor and my food scale, he had everything else we needed including cooking supplies and a full stock of spices. When we arrived, Scott showed us around. His love for the home (which he designed!) is obvious, and he was an attentive, friendly, and helpful host for the duration of our stay. All in all, i can't overstate how much i enjoyed our visit. I can't wait to come again!!
