Quiet, Classic UP Home
Plus + Overall cleanliness & amenities provided Zoned heating & cooling (window AC units & electric wall heating) Abundance of outlets & well-placed light switches Treats (who doesn’t like treats?) Medium-sized bathroom on main floor with decent supply of bathroom amenities 2 queen bedrooms upstairs (great lighting) Neutral = Stairs to bedrooms are steep but there is a sturdy handrail (stairs are also carpeted for good traction.) Backyard is deck, pavers and pea gravel. Backyard is not completely enclosed, but I slid a deck box over to block the only exit. Nightshade growing in the backyard. I would have pulled it out if I had gardening gloves with me. Some windows in the living room are unable to have the shades completely cover the window. Also an issue in one bedroom. The shower head was large but way too low for my 6’1” body. Likewise, for the two mirrors in the bathroom. The shower head did tilt to nearly horizontal. Minus - The two indoor garbage cans were half full when I arrived. There were also cigarette butts in the fire pit. There are a lot of controls/displays in the bathroom, but no exhaust fan that I could find. Condensation from a shower is generally an issue, even when you take barely warm showers.

Wonderful place to stay in Big Bay!
The Big Bay getaway was a wonderful experience overall! On arrival the place was spotless and check-in was simple. I found there were plenty of supplies (pans, dishes, towels) and anything else one would need to enjoy a relaxing stay. There were also some great amenities. The backyard is cozy and relaxing with the fire pit, string lights, and grill. You also must try the sauna! Not only is it relaxing, it's a staple of any U.P. camp experience. The location of the home is also convenient. It's within walking distance to the Thunder Bay Inn restaurant, local churches, the Big Bay Pathway, and the park. I would definitely recommend this home if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in Big Bay!

Northern Michigan Parents moving our daughter in.
It is a bit out of Marquette, maybe 30 min. It is a great place if you are okay with the drive. Personally, I had no issues, it was very nice and the owner very responsive. We had no issues while there. It is in walking distance, about a block, from the restaurant and and local bar. It was quiet and the back yard is super nice! Thank you for a great stay!
