"We had an overnight stop at this property on our way back to the ferry. Our stay was very pleasant and the hosts were very friendly. The property was very clean and they catered for all needs, tea, coffee, water etc in the room and I even got a recipe for a wonderful courgette marmalade. The property is not too far from Vitre which is a beautiful town and definitely worth a visit."

"We are a 4 generation family that stayed 5 days and had the most wonderful time. The house comfortably accommodated 14 of us ranging in age from 2 - 79 years. The views are amazing and there is a large yard with a trampoline and swing set that entertained our younger ones for many hours. The 2 kitchens are well equipped and it is a nice walk to the lovely village. I highly recommend this rental."

"Das Ferienhaus war genau richtig für uns. Es liegt 20 Gehminuten vom nächsten Dorf mit Bäckerei entfernt. Ansonsten Natur pur und nachts ein toller Sternenhimmel. Der Vermieter sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Er spricht auch englisch. "

"Vieux-Viel ist ein kleiner und sehr ruhiger Ort. Für uns war es als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Region ideal (Mont St. Michel, Avranche, St. Malo, Cancale, etc...). "Cottage is a days drive from England in North Loire region so not as well known. We had plenty to do visiting historical sites, old villages and wine tasting! It was very quiet and peaceful and the owner very helpfully marked a map with interesting places to visit. We were unaccustomed to en-suite arrangements formed by curtains"

"This gite, created in a traditional French stone building, with its own garden to sit out in, is a place to get away from it all. The entrance is up stone steps to a large combined living room and kitchen. Wooden open stairs lead to the bedroom and bathroom. "The key code to check-in was incorrect. It took approx 3 hrs for the manager to respond to a call for help. The wireless password was also given incorrectly but we managed ourselves to sort this out. The property was much less clean than we would have desired and lots of minor issues such as broken lights were apparent. The outside seating was broken, filthy and unusable. "Booked as a stayover on fishing trip to Brittany. The town is lovely,the hotel and staff were lovely and there are several nice bars/restaurants within a short walk. There is a parking garage under the hotel too so if you have a van full of fishing gear,like us,your car or van can be parked securely. Not sure if you can book a parking space because there are only a few "

"Nice hotel and very clean. Our room was large and nicely decorated. Staff were very pleasant. Evening meal was well cooked and very tasty. Only complaint was the steak was tough but the chef had made the best of what was a poor piece of meat - not his fault. Breakfast was very good."

Lovely location and grounds. Not enough staff

"We arrived at the end of a long drive. The property grounds are lovely. The property details say restaurant and bar. The restaurant doesn’t open on a Sunday evening so we had a local pizza take away. The bar also closed early too. Upon check out, reception was not manned."

Building Site May 2024

"The location is excellent. Within a 2 minute walking distance of a supermarket and half a dozen food establishments. With an Ibis budget you know what you are going to get. What I didn't expect was a skip outside, a lobby full of building materials and a staircase covered in building mess and smells. Oh, and the builders started hammering and sanding at 0800 on a Saturday morning. The room was as expected, no issues but an email to say that building work was going on would have given me the choice to go elsewhere or not."
