The hotel was very conveniently located to Paddington Station and had many great dining options nearby. Unfortunately, due to the age of the hotel and it's proximity to the station, a restful nights sleep was difficult to attain. The trains rumbled beneath until the wee hours and resumed early as well, and the sound between floors was considerable with footsteps and closing (slamming) doors being very obvious. Overall a good option, but some investment in soundproofing would be beneficial. Would not be my first choice again.

From the minute this weary traveler stepped foot into the restaurant/pub I knew this would be a huge bonus to my trip other than just a room! The entire staff were amazing! The food was so delicious (especially the DEEP FRIED BUTTER CHICKEN - the lamb shanks, and many other dishes.The rooms were very cozy and the beds are big. I throughly enjoyed my stay .. the only drawback was that the fan on my thermostat didn’t seem to be able to be adjusted..so I assumed it was at a set speed. All in all this American loved the hospitality! Thank you all

A 5-star hotel, very conveniently located for the theatres on the Southbank. The bed was comfortable, the hotel was generally quiet and the staff were mostly helpful. We have a few gripes, however. When checking in, there was a problem with the card machine which resulted in the reception staff asking to take the payment twice. When I asked whether I would receive a receipt for the bill, she said I should instead log into the hotel wifi and check it had gone through at my bank! This lack of awareness about basic security and what not to do on public wifi I put down to poor training of this member of staff. The absence of biscuits with the tea/coffee making facilities in our room was a shock. Most hotels/B&Bs with fewer stars offer their guests a packet of biscuits and many provide fresh milk. For a 5-star hotel, this should be an absolute given and not something for which we should have to pay extra. The additional £16 service charge on checking out was an indicator that the hotel owners are more concerned with their own profits than with good customer service.
