This apartment is ideal to enjoy the beach and the sea and to discover the southernmost Calabria. At this unique stretch of the sea, the Jasmine Coast / costa dei gelsomini, the season starts earlier and lasts longer. The coast is also suitable for surfing. Beautiful landscapes, swallows villages on the hills, olive groves and orange trees are typical of the Locride.

The exterior facades of the 3-storey house were completely renovated in winter 2017.
The 100 m2 large 3 1/2 room apartment IONIO SUD has beveled ceilings and is in the 2nd. Floor with separate entrance. The magnificent view of the sea, sea promenade and bay with hilly headland is unique. It is beautiful in itself and can on the balcony watching the daily life and the whims of the sea.
The holiday home is very suitable for spring, summer and autumn and winter. Therefore, the living room and the bedrooms are equipped with individually adjustable air conditioning units and there is also a gas heating and a fireplace.
The apartment IONIO SUD has 1 large living room, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 open kitchen, 1 balcony with beautiful views to the sea.
Also TV, WiFi and radio and telephone (incoming calls) are available.
LIVING ROOM
The 50 m2 large living room is in an area with olive parquet, where the sitting area, the corner with the desk, shelves for books, TV and the fireplace are housed.
The living area with granite floor, is furnished with a large dining table and a cupboard. Two double glass doors lead to the balcony.
BALCONY
The balcony has a pergola covered with bougainvillea and glycine, which had to be cut back very much because of the facade renovation. By the summer, the canopy will be available again, otherwise meet straw mats the service.
KITCHEN
The built-in kitchen has a natural gas stove with electric oven, a dishwasher and a large fridge with separate freezer. The kitchen is equipped with crockery cutlery, pans and pans, dishes and cooking utensils.
The dining area is equipped with a horizontal window, which gives a kind panorama photo of the beach and the sea. A glass door leads directly to the balcony. The washing machine is located under the sloping roof.

BEDROOM
The master bedroom is equipped with an excellent double bed (1.80 m wide and 2 m long). Two mattresses and two movable slats allow a good quality of sleep. Two bedside tables and a closet with linen and for clothes complete the furnishing.
The extraordinary of this room is the fantastic view of the sea with direct access to the balcony. Even lying in bed, you can enjoy the sea, the beach and the sound of the sea.
The second bedroom has a double bed (1.60 m wide and 1.90 m long) with 2 mattresses and a slatted frame. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units.

bathroom
Sink, toilet, bidet, bath with shower, towels, hair dryer. A private water reservoir with pump guarantees sufficient water pressure even in midsummer.

Ocean Beach
The sea is extraordinarily beautiful. Depending on the wind, it can repeatedly change the character during the day: from calm to high waves. It's fast deep enough for swimming.
The beach is very wide with round stones (on the water) and sand. Beach bars for drinks and snacks and for renting umbrellas and sun loungers are open in July / August. A parasol to take to the beach is also available in the apartment.
Bath towels for the beach are required.



The apartment is located 200m from the station and the center. In front of the house is the "Rotonda sul Mare" a round place at the sea, where young and old meet for a chat or to enjoy the sea breeze.

Other costs according to meter reading: Consumption of electricity (1 KW = 0. 35 €) and natural gas (1 m3 = 1 €)

discovery tours
There are many things to discover here. Especially impressive are days where you can enjoy the beach in the morning, swim in the sea and in the afternoon roam the hills and mountains. Nearby there are enough side roads to cycle or hike. There are also signposted hiking trails in the Aspromonte National Park and the Serre Regional Park.
A few Tipps:
For those interested in ancient times, the following sights are recommended: a) Villa Romana in Casignana, next to Bovalino. b) Locri Epizeferi, 10 km away, with temples, residential areas, theaters. c) National MarRC Museum in Reggio Calabria (80 Km away), where you can admire the world-famous bronze statues of Riace and artworks of Locri, etc.
For those interested in the Middle Ages, there are the following highlights: a) Gerace where Byzantine churches and the wonderful cathedral can be seen, at the Century to the 12th Century was built. b) Stilo, Bivongi, where the Cattolica, the Byzantine church (11th c. Century) and a Greek Orthodox monastery can be seen.

Piacevole soggiorno a Bovalino Marina
Proprietaria molto comunicativa e disponibile. Appartamento al secondo piano di uno stabile fronte mare, ad accoglierci la vicina che gentilmente ci ha mostrato casa. Appartamento molto grande, pulito e con terrazzo vista mare comodo per fare colazione e cenare in maniera piacevole. Peccato che Bovalino sia una piccola cittadina non ancora a misura di turista, infatti mancano quei negozietti o localini che la sera sarebbe piacere visitare durante una passeggiata lungo il lungomare che si estende per più di un chilometro. La posizione della casa è ottima dato che fa ad angolo col passaggio a livello, che serve a raggiungere il mare (passa all'incirca un treno ogni ora). Unico appunto, il condizionatore era un po' rumoroso ma la proprietaria aveva già anticipato che sarebbe stato sostituito e l'elettricità che viene pagata apparte è un po' troppo cara. Consigliato A++.
