Cannon River Ranch: Cabin 3 sits on a bluff overlooking the Pere Marquette River. The views from the decks are simply amazing, they are the perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the morning, or a cold drink at night while listening to the river pass below.

The cabin has 3 private bedrooms and a loft area and sleeps 7 people total. The main floor has a fully stocked kitchen, living room, and dining room area with a fireplace. There is also a large deck off the side that sits right at the edge of the bluff looking down to the river below. The cabin sits above a bend in the river, giving incredible views in both directions up and downstream. The fishing is spectacular in this location.

The location of the cabin is secluded enough to have complete privacy but close enough to the housekeeper's cabin and to the other cabins to be close by if you have a group or are renting multiple cabins.

The bed layout is as follows:
Bedroom 1: Two twin beds on main floor
Bedroom 2: Two twin beds on main floor
Bedroom 3: Two Full beds are located on the upper level.

REVIEWS
"This is for We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at cabin #3 and got a feel for what Michigan is really like under all its layers. Dipping our toes in the river, surrounded by lush green trees and ferns, was a great way to cool off in the summer. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the other seasons as well! We made some great memories during our stay."

"Great property! If you're looking for solitude and a place to stay if you like to chase fish around on the Pierre Marquette, this property is for you! Will definitely try to return next year"

Quiet getaway
We were looking to get out in nature and unplug in this property is absolutely perfect for that. Be ready for your cell phone not to work and there is no Wi-Fi or air-conditioning. But overall the property is very clean and we had a great time.

Remote Getaway
A cool cabin hidden deep in the woods, this place was a perfect place to relax and be in nature. There is a beautiful view overlooking the river. If the kids are coming, bring plenty of activities. We brought several games and some toys, which was perfect because there aren’t any of those things in the cabin. The cabin has a well, septic, and electricity, and thankfully it has no internet, no tv, and poor cell reception so we were totally unplugged. It was light on pillows, so you might want to bring some of your own. Also, add coffee, condiments, and cooking oil to your grocery list. There are plenty of cooking utensils, pots and pans, and dishes, but no consumables. Overall, it was a wonderful, relaxing stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Baldwin. This concealed cabin was perfect for the women that spent the weekend enjoying the cabin. We were close to Idlewild where we visited friends. Also we went to Jones’s Homemade Ice Cream parlor which is a wonderful place for delicious ice cream. The caretaker was very kind and we appreciate the hospitality. Great time at this property.

Dated and dirty
Outside of the view, property was not worth the money. Upon arrival, house appeared that it had not been cleaned for a week or two. Could not walk around in socks due to the amount of dirt/sand on the floor. No toilet paper or paper towel was provided until later in the evening after check in. House was dated and needs to be upgraded or price reduced.

Falling apart
Location was excellent. The amount of windows would have been great to enjoy the sounds and breeze except most could not open or are broken. Beds were cheap and extremely uncomfortable. The check in process was terrible. There is a caretaker who claimed he was not given names and only had cabin numbers, which we were not given, so we could not coordinate. We figured out the correct cabin based on the description on the site. We toured the property and my impression is the owner(s) have given up on making anything better and is just going through the motions until the property is sold. Would love to go back for the location, will never use that company’s cabins again.

A nice, long weekend
For it to be a cabin in the woods, we didn't seem to have any bug issues. That was a pleasant surprise. It was a little warm, but the fans provided some relief. You may want to bring 1 or 2 with you just in case. It's a short, but tough trek down to the river. There is a steep decline/incline trail, but if you can manage it, you are sure to have a relaxing float in the river. It's shallow enough to be waist deep for kids. This was a nice getaway for the family.

Great Stay
We were three couples with kids who stayed in the cabin. Pros – Clean, very Spacious, loved the high ceilings, fantastic view of the river Cons - Upstairs room got a little hot. Glad they had provided extra fans. There was some confusion checking in. The caretaker was asking us about which cabin number we had booked since he had no information about who was coming in. Luckily, the cell signal came for a few seconds and we were able to find that information in the email. The cabin amenities mention Kayak and Canoe. But the caretaken mentioned that they are not available. Also, although the Cabin is directly facing the river, there is no direct access. We were able to rent them close by, so it all worked out well. Few points which can be pros or cons depending on what you like - No wifi and phone signal was very weak. The actual cabin was around 2 miles inward from the provided caretaker's address. This will be a major pro if you are looking to completely disconnect. The cabin next to us were blaring their music. But we could barely hear them as the cabins are so spread out. Overall we had a great time!

I 100% would recommend!
We come up and fish the PM at least 2-3 times a year for different runs of fish. Having a cabin right ON the PM is awesome. The place is exactly as described and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is feeling adventurous and to those who are anglers.

Hunting and Fishing Trip
My friends and I hunt private property near by and we wanted seclusion and a river to fish for down time. Excellent location. Cabin was wonderful. This place is great and the care taker is awesome. Fishing was the only thing that didn’t deliver. Not one caught or even seen. Which I thought strange. Yet that’s not the host’s problem.

Quiet remote cabin
We chose this property for the beautiful location. It is in the middle woods right along the river. There are easy hikes just right outside the cabin. It is a little bit of a drive from the town center, so make sure you have all the supplies you need to avoid having to drive back. Property comes with minimal supplies compare with other places that we stayed at. It had rolls of TP, 3 rolls of paper towels, salt, pepper, sugar, and soap. There were plenty of firewood to use. Check in and check out was super easy. There is no wifi or cellular reception at all, so be prepared . There is a LAN line phone if yoi need to make a phone call. Overall a nice stay.

Truly in the middle of nowhere
It was definitely remote. My minivan struggled with the sand road that leads to the cabins from the main house. Our cabin was approximately two miles down that road. There is absolutely no cell service, but there was, thankfully, a landline provided. The caretaker was helpful upon arrival, but we felt uncomfortable when he arrived at our cabin unannounced at 9 pm on our last night to gather trash and check in on us. While this is polite during the day, it can make women feel uncomfortable and unsafe When alone in a remote area. Some of the windows opened, but many of the cranks/seals/parts were broken. This made opening the windows to get air movement difficult. Outside of these issues, it was a pleasant stay.

We had the pleasure of checking out each of the cabins as we were the only guests staying that weekend and across the board, these cabins could not be in a more picturesque location. The furniture was a little dated, and I didn't receive much communication before arriving, but it didn't take away from how lovely the experiece was once we arrived. Will certainly be coming back for years to come.
