"We rang in the new year at the Casa de las Sonrisas. I also turned 50 here. It was the best house and setting that we could have asked for!! It was perfect for our group of 9. The location was great – very secluded away from tourists and commotion. We had the best time. The hot tub and pool were amazing and well used by the group. The rooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. Relaxing was so easy here. We were able to see whales from the balconies!!Being right on the beach was so fun....

"We went with a group from work and their families. There was enough privacy for everyone plus a huge entertainment area for the entire group together. The house sits on a mile of private white sand beach but is only 20 minutes to a nice size town and a little over an hour to Cabo. We have cooks come to the house every day, rented quads and relaxed on the beach and water. I highly reccomend this house."

"Casa Los Arcos is a gem of a spot. The huge home and humble casita have plenty of room for three families (we had 11 total). The separation of space was great, and all the rooms were comfortable and well furnished. The backup generator was great when others on the beach lost electricity one evening. Ocean views galore

"Check in was quick and easy. The hotel is in the heart of Los Barriles and on the beach. They have a large pool. I would definitely get a pool/ocean view room. It is worth the extra $$$. The bed was a little soft for my liking. They have a cafe/coffee shop which has food and is open earlier in the day. They have a full bar/restaurant in the evenings as well as a little palapa bar right above the beach with a great view. We saw whales breaching and playing and rays jumping, all right out in front of the hotel. The staff were all super friendly, especially Leo. A couple of things to note. Our room did not have a microwave or coffee maker. Also the water pressure is a little light and the sink drained slow. But these are small things compared to all the great things about Playa Del Sol. We will most definitely stay here again. It is 2 blocks from the main streets and there are a ton of restaurants, bars, taco stands and grocery options within a few blocks. "

"We stayed there for a week, and everything was ready and clean when we arrived. Each day, we were given two bottles of water, which was a nice touch. The pool and hot tub area were always clean and well-maintained, and there was never any noise after 10 p.m.—even before that, it was pretty quiet. The best part was being right on the beach with easy access. It made our stay really relaxing. "

Babymoon heaven

"This place is fantastic. We went there for a baby moon. Highly recommended! The service was great! The chef is really great and made special wishes a reality. I’m definitely coming back. The access to the beach can’t be beat. The rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of pillows. They included kayaks, snorkel equipment, and their cabanas were not at extra charge. The service team was phenomenal! So kind, respectful, helpful and nice. "

"Great off the beaten path location for exploring the Sol de Mayo Waterfall and the surrounding Sierra de la Laguna mountain range near the small town of Santiago. We really enjoyed the hike to the waterfall and exploring the Cañon de la Zorra (Fox Canyon) above the falls. The accommodations weren't fancy, but we did enjoy the peace and tranquility of the desert landscape and the beautiful oasis tucked away amid the arid canyon. Star gazing at night from the roof top was the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. As a side note, if you get down to the falls early in the day, you should have the place all to yourself before the crowds/visitors from the surrounding areas show up. I would recommend calling ahead of time if you plan to eat at the Rancho or in the town of Santigo (about 20-minutes away), as we found that most places were closed on the Wednesday that we visited."

Amazing tranquility off the beaten path

"Casa Los Arcos is a gem of a spot. The huge home and humble casita have plenty of room for three families (we had 11 total). The separation of space was great, and all the rooms were comfortable and well furnished. The backup generator was great when others on the beach lost electricity one evening. The wrap-around patio is a great feature. It offers plenty of room to be outside without being in the direct sun, perfect for reading and meals. The pool was excellent, and the beach provided quick access to great snorkeling.One cautionary point for those considering this spot is that the road to Punta Pescadero is rough. A Jeep or similar, heavier-duty SUV is more comfortable (though not required) than a simple crossover. This is a great place to hunker down for lazy days in the water. We needed to drive more than we planned, and would have preferred not to have to drive that road as much. "
