"If you're learning Italian, this is a fantastic place to enjoy; the owners were very patient and supportive, and the place is clean and quiet; they allowed us to roam in their orange garden and eat fresh, tasty oranges off the trees, such a fantastic experience, highly recommended."

"Een hele aardige plek met een leuk uitzicht. Een vreselijke weg er naar toe. Slecht aangegeven. Kamer erg basis. 3 dagen achter elkaar .oeten vragen om toiletpapier geen glazen op de kamer om een glas wijn te drinken. Ontbijt was prima voor Italiaanse nirmen We hadden niet het idee dat we te maken hadden met de eigenaar. De bevlogenheid ontbrak. Er werd zeer slecht Engels gesproken. Er is niets op loopafstand van de b&b"

"What a lovely experience to be in a restored 11th century castle. The restaurant has a limited menu but you will not be disappointed. Everything is homemade including pastas and local cheese production. Italian meats are made during the slow season by the workers at the hotel. The view of the valley from the back door of the dining room is spectacular. This is a hidden jewel in Calabria. "

MOZZAFIATO/BREATHTAKING

"I truly cannot express in words the genuine hospitality that Antonio and his family extended to us new Turista Americano. My wife and I that is. So, the next guest can have a unique experience as we did, I won’t reveal all and spoil it for you. However, it was our very first time in Scalea, Calabria as well as Italy. Although this is a VRBO our experience was not one of a business transaction. Antonio treated us as guest in his home and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable for the 8 days we spent there. For those shy trying to communicate in Italian, he will make sure it's not a problem. If you want a true Neapolitan Margherita “pizza” in Scalea he can tell you the place. Beautiful historic sites, he can direct you to that too.Casa Marea – The apartment was exceptionally clean, also were the linens and towels. The washing machine perfecto! Both bathrooms functioned perfectly. Every appliance we felt we needed served our needs. The balcony view! That peaceful, serene view alone would have been enough if that’s all we had but of course it wasn’t. The support from Antonio and his family as well as the comfort of the apartment are worth much, much more than the small amount to rent it. Hopefully we were good guest as well! Thank you again, Antionio, Paola, and Fabrizio. This will not be our last visit to you. We will return. Your hospitably and guidance is one of the main highlights of our trip to Italy. "The hotel was great from the food to the service. Everyone was very kind and treated us like family. They even picked us up at the train station in Paola and drove us to attractions we wanted to see! We couldn’t have asked for better service and a better experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who plans on visiting this area with their loved ones. "

"Check in was easy. There was parking which was not always the case in most hotels in Italy. Marco was so nice and bubbly showing us our rooms. Even though there was a language barrier we could understand each other. The hotel was conveniently located near our local family in Diamante and the wedding venue. Loved how beautiful the beach was at the hotel. Each room gets an assigned umbrella at the beach. When visiting family again, we would definitely stay here."
