Beautiful & Scenic Waterfalls to See in the Spring

Located on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage, this outdoor enthusiast's dream stay lake front home has a 270-degree view of the water to watch the abundant wildlife along the lake from your front & backyard while taking in the beautiful nature of tall pines, yellow birch, maple, & hemlock trees. You'll have 3.5 acres of a private wildlife setting. A massive 3,000’ shoreline that you can explore from a peninsula & 2 private islands where you can picnic, swim, fish, & be inspired by the amazing nighttime vista.

The space
Upon entry, you'll discover absolute comfort & an amazing range of amenities! The décor is an honorable mention to the adorable theme emulating Wisconsin's wildlife, which has been carefully curated throughout the home.

Step into the Great Room & be greeted by a cathedral ceiling with a view of the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. The open floor plan lets guests enjoy a spacious feeling while relishing incredible lake views throughout the entire Great Room. Your Great Room also serves as a central gathering spot for entertainment on your 50” smart TV.

The well-equipped, full kitchen offers a brand new KitchenAid stove, oven, and microwave, and Bosch dishwasher, along with other small appliances. The kitchen also provides ample storage & the cupboards are filled with attractive stoneware & glassware that sets a lovely up-north dining table.

Next to the kitchen is a large, inviting dining area, which is a comfortable arrangement for guests & perfect for hosting memorable meals. The dining area is perfectly situated with windows that offer a breathtaking lake view as well.

Next to the upstairs bedrooms, a separate office room awaits with a direct ethernet high-speed Starlink connection & an office desk with a lamp & chair in case you have to do some work while on vacation.

The lower level provides extra space for relaxation. As a special feature, there is a quiet sitting area by an electric fireplace. This room showcases a comfortable queen sleeper sofa bed with a high-quality mattress and a recliner to lounge on, plus an over-the-air TV just like old times.

Enjoy a quick walk out to the peninsula to a beautiful picnic area. Utilize the seasonal private dock & shorefront for all of your lake day activities. Play an outdoor game in the ample grassy areas, & lounge on the sprawling balcony with a Weber gas grill to cook a delicious meal for the entire family while overlooking the lake. Of course, after a full day on the water or just relaxing, have some fun by the campfire roasting marshmallows or making s'mores under the night sky. Days full of laughter, fun, & unforgettable memories will leave you excited to return as you enjoy this wonderful slice of paradise.

About the Turtle Flambeau Flowage

Enjoy the scenic water & island views of the Turtle Flambeau Flowage which is a lake of approximately 14,326 acres in size, with 377 islands, & 229 miles of intricate mainland shoreline & 105 miles of island shoreline. You will have undisturbed, wooded shorelines & islands which offers the opportunity to boat, camp, fish & enjoy the outdoors in wild & rugged northern Wisconsin. Spread across 40,000 acres in Iron County, the Turtle Flambeau Scenic Waters Area offers endless fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, sunbathing, ski & snowshoe trails, & snowmobile & ATV/UTV trails. Be a part of Wisconsin’s most pristine & treasured waters & a wilderness that seems almost timeless.

The "wild & wonderful" Turtle Flambeau remains one of Wisconsin's outstanding fishing destinations. Preserved by the state, this area is a mecca to both land & water recreation. While walleye are the dominant species, trophy muskie over 50 inches have been taken. The Turtle Flambeau Flowage has often been compared to a “Canadian” wilderness experience without having to travel to Canada.

We are located in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest which is a Wisconsin state forest of more than 225,000 acres. Ice fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing are only steps away from our home. You have miles of snowmobile trails right off the lake & also just as you exit our driveway.

Our home is located approximately 14.8 miles from the Town of Butternut, 17.1 miles from Town of Mercer, & 18.5 miles from Park Falls. All towns offer a variety of stores for your shopping convenience.

YOUR FOUR SEASON VACATIONLAND

If you want to drive without fighting traffic, you will enjoy sight-seeing through Iron County's miles of natural woodland wilderness. You will find new sights to see each day of your stay & in any season of the year. From the sweeping sand beaches of Saxon Harbor on Lake Superior & the rushing waterfalls of the Penokee Iron Range near Hurley, Iron Belt, & Upson, to the green forests & unspoiled lake & river country of the Mercer & Springstead resort areas, Iron County's exciting natural scenery is yours to enjoy freely & leisurely. More than 750 miles of paved highways & improved forest roads provide safe travel through every part of what is now one of the largest wilderness woodlands remaining in the Midwest.

Riotous fall colors of the forest foliage are a scenic wonder of late September & early October which attract thousands for a few days of thrilling sight-seeing & picture-taking. Nowhere else in the world is the artistry of Jack Frost so breathtaking as in the miles of hardwood forest painted in brilliant scarlet & gold.

In winter, Iron County's evergreen forest wears its mantle of deep snow in classic Christmas card scenes ready to greet you along with the ice-fishing grounds on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage. Come enjoy our four season vacationland.

Beautiful location
The week went too fast - beautiful property with a great view. Nature all around and the Owners have it set up perfect for your get-a-way or vacation. My only recommendation is to allow use of Washer/Dryer. I have rented multiple times a year in many areas of the USA and have always had access to W/D. Again - this was not a deal breaker, still rating this top notch.

great cabin for a small family
Wonderful home, updated kitchen, great views. Great firepit, and perfect lake for kayaking/paddle board. Owners were great with communication and easy to deal with. It is listed as a 3BR on vrbo, but when you look at the description closer you see it is a 2BR and then has a pullout couch in a common area, that was a surprise when we were walking through the house the first time looking for the third BR. Will definitely sleep 6 if needed though. It is about a 30 minute drive to town from the cabin. Overall its a great place and we would recommend it to any small group looking for peace/quiet/tranquility. It's also probably even better in the winter if you snowmobile.

Great Property
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay - The house is awesome and has everything you need- It’s in a nice quiet cove and plenty of land to explore nature. Deer every morning if you’re up early. We brought our boat and enjoyed our time on the lake just driving around exploring or fishing. Would definitely rent again.

Vacation on TFF
The house is secluded, beautiful and the view from the great room was stunning. Several does and fawns roaming through the yard everyday was also nice to see. I had to cancel my trip after my boat motor quit and then scurry to get the new motor installed. I tried to cancel my reservation but apparently it didn't go through but Joe called me to tell me that so I could get a refund in time. He actually made a couple calls to VRBO to help with the refund. He didn't have to do that and when I got the motor back and rescheduled, he called to ask me if I needed anything and to call him if I had any questions. What a nice guy! The fishing was tough the week we were there, but the scenery was unbelievable, and we had a great time anyway. Book a trip at his home and you can't possibly be disappointed. Thanks Joe and Bonnie for sharing your home.

Perfect house on the flowage
We absolutely loved our stay here. This house was perfectly decorated from the decals on the walls to glassware. A lot of detail went into making this home perfect. We were able to slow down for the weekend and enjoy the flowage and all the area offers. Perfect place to get away and relax. Would definitely recommend.
