"The house is a bit outside town in a separate peaceful island. If you like more peaceful location, this is a good option. The town itself is easily reachable if you have a car. Multiple grocery stores are also nearby. The suite was well equipped and is suitable for two persons. The owner was also nice and we had easy communication with her of the practical accommodation matters. "

Linn and Birger are the best hosts, who help us with baby bed and a baby chair that made it so easy for us to stay here. They also wrote us if they saw northern lights so we wouldn’t miss it. The location gets you away from the city light pollution but close enough that trips into town aren’t a hassle. The interior is beautifully crafted with plenty of space for our whole group. "We had a great stay overall. The check-in was the easiest and quickest we have experienced in quite some time. There was free coffee / tea available by the reception all day, a very nice touch in the cold. The sauna in the central building is spacious and convenient. We also had a private sauna in the beach house we stayed in - this was an amazing surprise (should be called out in the room's details!). In terms of location, both Sommaroy island and the hotel are great - to enjoy the scenery and to hunt for the northern lights. The only suggestion we would have is to maybe install dimmer street / outside building lights if possible - I imagine a lot of people visit for the northern lights, which are more difficult to see due to light pollution (especially when external building lights are accidentally left turned on)."

"We choose to stay at Linn and Birgers apartment over new years. We were traveling a family of 5 and it was perfect for our stay and beginning of 2025. Not accurately represented and allegedly closing

"Apartment is pretty, as per the pictures. Unfortunately there is zero noise insulation and you simply cannot be here and relax due to people in the other units coming and going day and night, the latter for northern light trips. There is zero on site support, despite advertising front desk being open during the day. Even before the trip we couldn't get hold of the manager and neither could Hotels.com. No info provided. The manager is slow to get back to any text and doesn't answer his phone. He tried to justify this with the fact he is doing another job. That may be the case but surely he has to give priority to guests. We took up our issues the first night with Hotels.com who again couldn't contact the manager. When he finally became available and spoke to the owner they agreed to refund the whole stay and we left after one night. That's hardly a good thing as we then had to find alternative accomodation but at least the owner took action. I would advise anyone with a booking here to consider staying somewhere else where you can relax, have some peace and quiet and also have some form of present management for any questions or concerns. "
