"Great place. Wonderfully decorated with robin’s egg blue trim, sturdy and functional furnishings. Just beautiful, the way the light streams in from the shuttered windows. "We had a most delightful two day stay at the Casa do Santo. Our wonderful host, Maria was full of local and historical knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Many generations of her family have tended the winery upon which this beautiful boutique hotel is built. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with beautiful views of the vineyards. Everything was first rate. The breakfast was outstanding and the hotel offers tapas and their very own fine wine in the evening. The hotel is located in a charming little village on the side of the valley with stunning views. You can literally hike from your room through the village down the side of the valley through ancient terraces with vineyards and olive groves. The trails leads down to the Douro River and should not be missed. Our stay was truly magical. "

"A fantastic stay at a beautiful property with amazing views and surroundings - and dog friendly ! We had the best time including our Labrador who loved exploring the vineyards ! Shame we couldn’t use the pool as it wasn’t very suitable due to the weather, but nevertheless, it was a great experience ! Topping it off with great hospitality throughout !"
