Provence secluded villa on vineyard, pool 18x5, close village and Avignon

Enjoy the gentle Provencal atmosphere in this comfortable house, in the heart of the Rhône vineyards and close to some excellent restaurants, some of them Michelin starred. Provence, wine, old stones lovers and initially winegrowers on the family estate, we (Nick & Sabine) devoted ourselves to renovating the old stables with the aim of welcoming guests wishing to discover this sublime corner of the Rhone Valley, in the county of Vaucluse. All this is part of an eco-friendly approach. In a rural setting, enjoy a restful and luxurious getaway in this magical location. You have access to two large living rooms, one with two large sofas (each sitting 3/4), the other with a fully-equipped kitchen area, two laundry rooms, dining and relaxation areas for an unique experience, far from the crowds and yet close to everything.

.... and in detail : 40 minutes from Avignon TGV, 70 minutes from Marseille airport, the Mas Meyeau is located on the outskirts of Cairanne, a charming village of Provence, between Vaison-la-Romaine and Orange. It is surrounded by a magnificent vineyard with an orchard and olive trees. A superb holiday rental offering a level of comfort adapted to the needs of both an international and French clientele in search of a true Provencal experience. Comprising 5 bedrooms, mas Meyeau (270 m2 or 2906 Sq Ft) can accommodate, ideally, up to 10 people (+ 2 extra beds in two of the five rooms at extra cost) with all the necessary comfort for an unforgettable holiday. Opening-out to a courtyard with magnificent hundred-year-old plane trees, this house offers large spaces both, indoor and outdoor, completed with an 18m x 5m swimming pool. In warm season, the private swimming pool is both relaxing and refreshing, between shade and sun, on the sunbathing chairs provided for this purpose but also on the surrounding lawns. Secured by two alarms.

Great house for large family in great location
Very spacious house in wonderful setting. Vineyards as far as the eye can see. Friendly hosts who also not intrusive. Longest pool we have ever had in 25 years of visiting France! House was well equipped for catering for yourselves - best cooking pots we've had in a long time Very good location and easy to visit the Roman Theatre in Orange, Vaison La Romaine, Arles and Nimes. Wish we were still there.

Great property, everything you need is in the house. Spacious, well-maintained and a cosy interior. The swimming-pool is some steps away from the house but in fact it’s the best place to sit overthere and enjoying sunshine 😉👍. There are a lot of beautiful old trees on the premises and they gave a lot of shade around the house and terrace which is nice. The owners are nice people; the wine-tour by Nick was very interesting and the in-house dinner by Sabine was excellent. A really great place in Cairanne. The weather was not as it should normally be in June but perfect to visit nice places in the neigbourhood.

Perfect house for our family of 10 plus a small dog!
We had an amazing week at L'Ameillaude with 8 adults, 2 young children, and a baby. The house is very large and all the bedrooms are a good size. The house also has plenty of bathrooms so we didn't feel crowded. The grounds and swimming pool are absolutely beautiful. Our host Sabine was so helpful. The location is great for exploring wineries and villages. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here again.

Paradise in Provence
Everything about our stay if four weeks was great. First, our hosts, Simone and Nick could not have been more giving and helpful. The house is very comfortable, the grounds are lovely and the pool is great both for the kids and the adults. The hill towns in the area were fun to visit and beautiful to photograph. In summary, we hated to leave.

Best Vrbo We've Stayed In
Our family was looking for a property to spend a quiet week in the French wine country and found Sabine and Nick's house. We were so impressed with the home, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed from cooking supplies to pool toys for the children. The ground are breath taking, beautiful views in all directions, and the house is secluded making it a private place to relax. The bedrooms have air conditioning which was also a nice feature that other rentals in France don't have. We scheduled a wine tour with Nick which was excellent, he gave us a great overview of the history of the region and the property. We also arranged for Sabine to cook three meals for us, and they were absolutely incredible. I'm still dreaming of the chocolate cake with lemon icing she made on our last night for desert. It was so nice to have her cook the meals and deliver them, and just have the experience of enjoying a meal in the house without the work of preparing the meal and doing the shopping. If you're on the fence on booking this property or having meals catered, just do it! You'll be glad you did, we came home from this vacation with some many memories and feeling very relaxed from our stay. I hope we can return in the near future to enjoy their home once again.

Fantastic family holiday
Sabine and Nick were excellent hosts. They live on the property so if we needed advice etc they were onhand. The property is lovely, very well furnished with good sized bedrooms . The kitchen was well appointed and a lot of outdoor space for eating and playing. All the rooms have air con which was a big help in the heatwave! It is near the local village (10 minute walk) with a good boulangerie , general store and an excellent wine shop. The area is excellent for wine tasting ( indeed Nick’s wine is pretty good!) and there are a lot of wonderful nearby villages and markets to visit as well as the larger towns like Avignon and L’ Isle sur la Sorgne. I would thoroughly recommend this domaine and hope to come back.

Beautiful house and location
Our family loved our stay at Domaine L'Ameillaud. The house is perfectly situation to explore the Cotes du Rhone region and has gorgeous views of the vineyards and Mont Ventoux. The bedrooms are sizable and beautifully decorated and include air conditioning. Bathrooms are modern and well equipped, as is the kitchen. Our kids loved playing ping-pong in the courtyard and the adults enjoyed a glass of wine at the outside table. The pool is secluded and has lovely views - it was the perfect way to end our days with our kids after some hot days sight seeing. Nick and Sabine were fabulous hosts who looked after our every need. We'd highly recommend the wine tasting with Nick! His wines and olive oil are delicious. Sabine was gracious in every way and provided us with a delicious charcuterie board when we arrived and snacks for our wine tasting. We will have many happy memories of our stay at Mas Meyeaux! Can't recommend it enough!

A Glorious Slice of Heaven...
We could write a book regarding our magical one-week stay at Domaine L'Ameillaud in August 2019. Maybe one day we will. For now, we can only attempt to describe what was the most memorable vacation of our lives (and we've taken many!). The property is gorgeous. We would have our morning coffee/tea and basket of fresh croissants from the boulangerie in the open but private courtyard, which boasts a stunning view of the mountains with beautiful landscaping. Plenty of seats for everyone and a ping pong table for the kids. How many pictures can you take of a courtyard? Many, I assure you. :) The house itself is gorgeous and spacious to accommodate our two families. The bedrooms were airy and cool, beautiful tile floors, stunning armoirs, the showers had nice water pressure and the kitchen was very well-equipped. Outside, there are no words to describe. Imagine you are surrounded by sunflower fields, grapes for miles, beautiful fruit trees, a stunning pool and a beautiful breeze. We had to pinch ourselves every day at the unsurpassed tranquility. I especially loved how the house was equipped to help us live out our dream come true. There were serving trays to bring fresh fruits, vegetables and cheese outside. The pool towels for all 8 of us were re were very well made. There were place mats and votives for lovely dining experiences outside. I even loved doing laundry at this property! There is a quaint clothes line to air dry clothes privately with olive trees in view, and ivy climbing all around the picturesque home. Every arched doorway and fountain on this property is Instagrammable. We enjoyed open air markets, a lovely walk into Cairanne, a wonderful night out at the local restaurant. We visited old, medieval hilltop towns that dotted the mountainside. Sabine and Nick were wonderfully gracious hosts and responded to every need. They truly seemed to care that our experience was lovely. We are so grateful and couldn't recommend this property enough. For us, the time spent together as a family was everything we dreamed a Provencal vacation would be; and the location and accomodations were superb. Lauren McLaughlin Washington, DC

A perfect week in the country
Who hasn’t dreamed of a week in the countryside, surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields, sipping wine by the pool, and enjoying the bounty the local markets have to offer? Especially in a beautiful house, well equipped, with a/c for those days when the heat is just too much! Plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. The village of Cairanne is adorable and we happened to be there for the fête du vin, the annual festival where 30+ winemakers line the streets and squares offering tastes of their wines. Each local village has one, it seems. What a lovely afternoon. The nearby villages of Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape must not be missed, for the ambiance and restaurants as well as the wine. Only slightly further is Avignon. And for intrepid bikers, why not take a day and ride up Mont Ventoux? Sabine and Nick are the perfect hosts, there with suggestions and advice to fully enjoy the stay, and so responsive. Nick offered us a great tasting of his wines, and Sabine made our arrival day easier by preparing (for a fee - worth it) a delicious dinner! We would all stay again and hope to return to this idyllic spot someday.

Exceeds expectations!
This is not just a property; it is an experience to cherish. Nestled in the heart of Province, is a wife and husband who have addressed every attention to detail in a gorgeous property with a beautiful (truly) 5 bedroom home which is part of a compound consisting of a spacious courtyard; adjacent to their winery and your host's residence with a private pool surrounded by over 200 hectares of manicured grape vines. Conveniently, within walking distance to a quaint town with 2 restaurants, a boulangerie, a pizzeria and a small grocery. The beauty of the home is only surpassed by the owners availability, desire (who kept their distance for us to enjoy our privacy) and graciousness to make our stay unforgettable. Sabine is a great chef, concierge and host as is Nick a great winemaker, farmer, concierge and host. We had the options of cooking in, being served prepared meals or a host of great restaurants. They both work tirelessly to make this property a beautiful estate. Sabine and Nick welcomed our family of 4 children their spouses and significant others together with our 2 grandchildren and made us feel a part of their family and property. We shall return!

Sabine was amazing to deal with, came back with lots of info and advice and she and Nick helped us out when we were there. Sabine also cooked for us one night. A must!!!!

Mas Meyeau was a perfect fit for our plans
We had a unique need for a large accommodation for our friends to share a retirement celebration. Many of our friends are seasoned travelers. We were so pleased to be able to rotate them in small groups to stay with us for a few days rather than everyone at the same time. Mas Meyeau had plenty of room and comfortable accommodations. Our friends cook, so having a large kitchen with beautiful winery grounds was perfect. Sabine and Nick Thompson were gracious hosts who made us feel extremely welcome. It was one of our most memorable trips - especially being able to share it with our friends.

A Little Piece of Paradise!
It is a challenge in France to find a vacation home that includes a bath with each bedroom and a place large enough to offer 4 bedrooms. Sabine and Nick’s place not only met the bill but so, so much more! Their villa is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen and so serene- with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. Everyone that rents the villa HAS to attend Nick’s wine making tour and wine tasting. It is his passion that comes across in his pristine care of the property and his love of what grows out in those fields. How unique to share this life with Nick and Sabine for a week. A bonus is the food a short drive from the villa! I have always heard Provence is noted to have the best cuisine in France and within a 5 minute-to-half hour drive, we found it! A one Michelin Bistro in town and multi-Michelin restaurants not far- whether in a medieval town or at a 5 star resort. Perfect location! We have been home close to a week and we are still basking in the feel, taste, and relaxed attitude of the villa in Cairanne, France. Just beautiful! Sabine and Nick, thank you so much for sharing your paradise!
