Cala Sinzias is an idyllic retreat with soft, white sand and clear water. Bathe in the bay’s warm sea flanked by gorgeous mountain scenery. The beach is a good place for families with children, due to the shallow water, snorkeling and other fun activities.
The beach is often busy during the summer, but you should be able to find a quiet spot for some relaxation. Take a moment to enjoy the view, which includes a wood of eucalyptus trees. When you go swimming, bear in mind that some parts of the seafloor are uneven, which very young children may find difficult.
Strap on your snorkeling gear to make the most of the fish-spotting opportunities in the clear water. Alternatively, rent scuba diving equipment from one of the resorts behind the beach.
If you are into surfing, Cala Sinzias will not disappoint. It is often windy here with some good sized waves. If you don’t have a board, just enjoy the spectacle of others riding the surf. The beach also attracts a number of windsurfers.
For food and drink, stop by a beach bar or go to one of the restaurants behind the beach, which specialize in seafood dishes.
Cala Sinzias is on the Costa Rei, on Sardinia’s southern coast, between the beaches of San Pietro and Cala Pira. The beach is approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Villasimius Town and the drive should take less than 20 minutes. The facilities here include umbrella and sunbed rental, wheelchair access and a car park. Consider staying overnight in the nearby campsite.
