Terrace adds additional 50 m2 of space. The project is off-grid and sustainable using solar energy, Starlink internet, local water, and a biodigester.
This space is located in a new off-grid development of country homes in Calango, Peru. Calango is known for its comfortable climate with bright sun all year long. The air is clean and clear in this area. The property is situated at the rear of the development and has total privacy -- no noisy neighbors to deal with and no traffic passing by the house. You are renting the second floor of the home with a private and separate entrance. The first floor has its own separate entrance and is rented separately. If you are interested in also renting the first floor for a larger group, please contact me. If you enjoy hiking or rock climbing, there is an abundance of opportunity for these activities right outside the property.
You will have access to the second floor of the home and the outdoor terrace, which is private for your use only. You may also access the hills surrounding the home. These apartment you are renting is private and not shared with anyone.

This property is located in a community of new off-grid properties. The community is still new and there are not many homes yet built. The surrounding area of Calango is very pleasant. The main town square is a short drive away. There you can find local wines and fruits for sale, and there are a few restaurants that specialize in Peruvian cuisine, especially shrimp dishes as shrimp is a specialty in the region. La Capilla is a tourist area of Calango further up the river valley that offers additional restaurants and natural beauty.
This location is out in the countryside and it is recommended that you arrive by car. There is plenty of parking at the property. Inside of the community, you can walk freely and safely, and there is ample space for exercise, walking, jogging, hiking, etc. If you need assistance with transportation (e.g. from Lima Airport) please contact me and I will try my best to help you.
Please note that this place is newly built (first Airbnb guests will be welcomed in August 2024). Additional photos of the property will be posted as soon as it is finished -- realistically projected for mid-July 2024 as we are in the final stages of the project. I can share periodic updates with you on the project if you decide to book it. If at any point during the free cancelation period you wish to cancel, you can do so. But, I think you will like the property once completed. I am an experienced Airbnb host and I am building this with Airbnb guests in mind. The property is intended to be a relaxing vacation rental.
This particular community of homes is still new and developing, so there are not many other homes currently built. On the one hand, this creates a nice and very private atmosphere. On the other hand, if you are looking to meet new people and mingle with neighbors, this may not be a good fit for you.
Also note that this property uses Starlink satellite internet as this is the only signal available for this property. The signal is strong and consistent 24/7, and the speed has been tested as noted in the listing. I have installed Starlink extenders throughout the property so that the signal reaches all rooms and also the terrace area. You should not have any problems connecting to internet during your stay.

Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will also be given the choice between a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed.
Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the receptacle outside the building as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).
Also, guests must leave the property in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. My cleaning fee is lower than most Airbnbs and it covers basic cleaning like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 fee. Late check out is inconvenient for the cleaning team and for the next guest's arrival.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, I will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, I may charge fees in addition to this $300.
