"We had a great time with my family of four and our two small dogs. There was plenty of room and it was a great location. The pilot light was out in the fireplace, but that was fixed within an hour, thank you very much. There was also no sponge to wash dishes, but that was fixed quickly as well. Plenty of room in the cabin to relax and play. Close to snow. We loved that the back deck was fenced for our dogs. Overall we were very happy and would go back."

"We did not expect a 2 story condo with 1.5 baths, a kitchen and 2 balconies decks. It was beautiful in the pine trees and you could hear a pin drop. There was a gas bbq and a wonderful indoor pool and jacuzzi. It is an older property that could use some screen doors to open some sliders and a few repairs with kitchen drawers that fell out. We should have brought salt, pepper, foil as we did not bring some of these basics. Overall we had a fabulous stay and would like to return again. "

"We enjoyed staying at this home in Arnold, which is close enough to walk to the brewery/restaurant, grocery store and other necessities, and a short drive to Calaveras Big Trees Park. The home is large and comfortable. The host kindly let check in early on a Saturday and was very communicative. We enjoyed playing horseshoes in the backyard. The kitchen is extremely well stocked for cooking. The blankets and linens could use a deep clean, and the yard some tidying, but we were comfortable."

"All the comforts of home and well stocked. We enjoyed sitting out on the back patio in the morning and evening. We used the BBQ grill, and it was very clean. We highly recommend this place. They do ask that you take off your shoes as you come in so that the carpet doesn’t get dirtied. I recommend bringing a pair of slippers for inside. "

"The price is reasonable, and there is central ac. The location is good, and the laundry is great. But the house is showing its wear in places. Every step sounds like a herd of animals as many floorboards creak loudly at every step. The house was caked in dust, and none of the linens were set on any of the beds, which was an annoying inconvenience. That said, the Manager brought back the cleaners and replaced the ac filter upon our loud complaints. I found the AC system filter the recycling bin...

"We absolutely love the Overlook cabin. It’s nestled into a very quiet court on the Stanislaus river. There are so many things to do in the area. We enjoyed the lake, hiking, fishing, river walks, and having a beautiful place to relax in. The overlook had all of the amenities we needed. "We are staying at this hotel every time we come to Murphy (~1/year). We like it but we noticed that it getting more neglected. (No towels in the exercise room, some our appliances did not all work, the refrigerator was turned off, freezer did not freeze, etc. Also this hotel does not offer room services, which worked well during the pandemia, but something I would not mind would we stay longer."
